wtf? why did my thaco decrease

title is wrong what i meant is why did my thac0 *increase* from 8 up to 12 (in other words why did it get worse)

what the hell i just checked my information page and i saw that my base thaco is 12 now! it used to be 8 (with no magic buffs) i reloaded to a previous save and sure enough my base thcao was still 8? what gives? im sure i did not get level drained and stat drained and equipment has nothing to do with base thaco. the save i have before this happened was when i was about to descend into the unseeing eye pit, and afterwards is after i completed the unseeing eye quest and am doing the quest to get the services of the artist for the temple. can someone explain to me what happened?

Most likely you were hit by a gast. they make you're thac0 go up a bit. just wait for a little while or rest and you should be back to normal.

i don't think so...i haven't been in a fight in a long time...i tried resting and it didn't change...also if i was hit by a ghast there would be a status icon on my portrait...there is none...

hmmmm....try casting a cure disease spell, dont know if it will work. if not then maybe you should just reload....

yea...redoing everything since my last good save...gonna take a looong time...btw just wanna make sure...the thac0 of a multi-class fighter/mage at level 13/13 should be 8 right?
