The most irritating thing

Post by orangutan »

What do you consider to be the most irritating thing in the game?

It can be a person, task, place, bug (does Bioware even make those?)... just about anything. Something that makes you really annoyed.

My game save times take forever...now that is extremely annoying. I can't play until I find a fix.

Aerie's whining is damn annoying...but her lack of hit points is even more irritating.

She's not a fighter, Vixen. She's not even a true cleric, so she's not going to take damage well. I use her as a mage with lots of extra spells Image In that role, she works out beautifully. She was my favorite NPC (in terms of power) for a long time, though now she's just my favorite character for her personality, because of the leveling limitations of multiclassing. Muliclassing is great at low levels, where the "experience ladder" grows exponentially, but around 15th level the weaknesses of it start to show, due to the exp difference between levels having stayed the same for a long time. This creates a large level difference (like 2-3) between multi-class characters and regular characters with the same amount of experience. This really limits her mage casting ability, because 7th level spells are acquired at 14th level, and by the time she gets 1 of those, everyone else has 2 or 3 8th level spell slots.

The fact that guy main characters have a choice for romances, but the ladies have one. Sorry, still bitter about that.

Also, how many scales you get per dragon. You should be able to take enough to make a few good suits of armor and shields. Plus their treasure hoard should be more (at least going by the AD&D "Monstrous Manual"). After all, Dragons are famous for having a lot of treasure.

Are you sure you lose when your pc gets mazed, Lucian? I think it happened to my mage before, and he came back after about 2 rounds (19 INT).

I find most irritating when my entire party is confused, dominated, running in fear. Then they all turn on each other, and someone usually dies out of this, (esp. Aerie).

My inability to cast a Wish spell, to get Aerie her wings back... and if that doesn't work, well, I'll just have to do a series of quests for some random deity until they grant me the required deific Wish...
You guys are too rough on Aerie! Wouldn't you be somewhat freaked-out if you were stolen from your homeland as a child, imprisoned, tortured, and had some limbs chopped off??? Aerie rules, and when I get her her wings back, she'll lay the smack down on all you Avariel haters out there...

Imprisonment and maze are different spells. After maze you can still come back, it just takes some time. (Sometimes this can be a nice spell, your mainchar can't get kicked, since mine is currently a Bard, it's not all that bad) Imprisonment is irreversable. If it happens to one of your partymembers they're lost to you (like in hacked to pieces) and if it happens to you you're dead, permanently. (reload)

I think imprisonment is indeed very annoying. I also agree with Alexia about the female romances. I also hate desintegrate traps, my last character was a fighter-thief, so I used her as my thief in the party. Sometimes I was too lazy to check for traps and bang, no more main character. Image This has put me back hours in gameplaying because I forgot to save. (I know it's my own fault) The most annoying thing about it is the fact that most of the time there isn't even that big of a treasure to be found in the box with the trap.

According to the posts Aerie managed to make a "hate club" for herself . I want to share a funny(or should i say ironic? ) moment about Aerie :

I think it was at the early stages in the game . We were about to complete the slaver base in slums (building that looks like a ship)There was trap on one of the steps that leads to headquarters . Standard attack script caused losing control of the party (especially Minsc) Party got hit by trap. She came up with a dialog when half of my party was poisoned and very low in health and in the middle! of the fight . She started talking about her wings and etc . Well , it was enough for me to understand why Aerie is so much hated .

I had this too! In Chap 2 in Bodhis Lair, after I staked the last vamp and Bodhi appeared(There was already this smoke and the dimension door!) she started telling me of her life...
