Item creation

Post by Wilhelm »

Hi to everybody!
I have recently started playing with NeverwinterNights and I'm loving it.
I have a question about creating items with the toolset: when you create an item inside a module, can you use it only in that module or you can export it and use it also in other modules?

I just started playing with it myself last night, and I've only used one module thus far, so I am unsure about this. However, I noticed the original items were under the "standard item" tab, and the items I had made were under the "custom tab". I'm assuming if you just check under the custom tab for whatever module you open the items you've made will be saved there and you can use them.

Yes, I know. But I think they are saved only inside the module you create them in. If I look under the custom items in other module I can't find them.
But maybe there is way to export them in other modules?

There is an Import and Export function but I haven't been able to find anything in the NWN folder to use it on. I'm sort of lost on the creater myself as to some of the limits they've put on it. It seems foolish to me to be honest. You can only import files with the ".erf" type I do believe, and apparently there aren't any of those even in the folder titled "erf" which is one of the original install folders for the game.
