Silver Dragon's Eggs

Post by Alexia »

Where can I find the eggs? I'm getting sick of the Underdark.

How far are you in the scheme of things? Have you done all of the quests in Ust'Natha? Overall, the quest is long and extended, but you might have already done most of it. The quest composes the entire chapter 5, if I remember correctly.

I'm only in chapter four now. I saved the Matron Mother's Daughter from the Flayers and have done two tasks for her now. She's currently away for three days talking to Mother and I am to meet her in the tavern when she gets back. I was hoping that the eggs were in some house, but I knew I wouldn't be that lucky, or it would be that easy.

BTW, I went into where the Beholder's live before I did any tasks for anyone and got an Eye stalk from an elder Orb. Does that come into play anytime, or should I toss it?

Sorry, but you've got a long way to go... I was wrong about the Ch.5 thing, but the quest is very long. And yes, that eyestalk is important. If you want to get everything, also pay a visit to the lovely homes of the illithids and the Kuo-Toans. Beware, though. The Drow are infamous for giving you DEADLINES (Yes, that's right Image) Pretty much, if you don't meet them, you're totally screwed. So make sure you pay attention when they say be back at a certain time.

I went to the Flayer's Home and cleared the place out. I started in the Beholder Home, but two Gauths and a Beholder kept on kicking my ass, so I left...maybe I'll try again later. Thanks for the help.

Why are you totally screwed if the drow turn hostile? You lose some items that you could've gotten, most of which aren't that important (the best ones are sold by the merchants). You probably lose some XP too, but if you play capped that's irrelevant. IMO, the big thing you're missing is the story, which is actually pretty interesting and gets better.

Incedentally, my first trip to the drow city, my good party freed the genie and killed the handmaiden, which made the whole city turn hostile. I thought I would be in trouble, but the drow turned out to be pitifully weak (The fact that ONE PARTY can take out an entire important drow city is absolutely ridiculous). Alexia, if you did most of the quests available in Ch 2 and 3, and you're really sick of the underdark, go pay a visit the Temple of Lolth in the SE. You should be able to find the eggs from there.

However, let me warn you that if you skip the underdark, you're just going to want to play again to see what would've happened if you continued playing along as a Drow. It's definately worth doing at least once. I think you'll find the story is worth it Image

Did you go to the Sahuagin City before going to the Underdark? If so, I hope you got the Cloak of Mirroring (one of the most powerful items in the game) It reflects all magic attacks, including beholder rays (except for charm). If not, that really sucks. Anyway, if you have it, you can make ANY character THE BEHOLDER SLAYER. For extra beholder-smiting goodness, equip the person with the Shield of Harmony to prevent them from being charmed. It works without, but it takes a whole lot longer. Oh, and keep all other party members out of sight, or it could get ugly. For the only time in the game, you can watch precious Aerie kick some serious ass in hand-to-hand combat!

Yep, I went to the Sahuagin City before entering the Underdark, but no I didn't get the cloak. Guess I didn't find it.

And if the eggs are in the temple, that would explain why they kicked me out the first time I entered. Thanks!

You have a point there Caernarvon. I guess you're not totally screwed, but I like to do everything in a game. And it really messes up the storyline IMO if they go hostile. So it really pissed me off when a deadline blew up in my face. And you're right, it shouldn't have been that easy to waste the entire city of DROW, who are known to be some of the most deadly fighters on Faerun. And like Caernarvon said, those drow sell some REALLY good items. Make sure to check them out.

IMHO the drow stuff are all not getting cos they get destroyed when u get to the surface and i cant be bothered to take adv of the bug so if u get really tired of phaere's sorry @$$ u can just just killing everything on sight, working to the temple, getting into the egg chamber, killing the guards and taking the stones

then u just go to adalon and voila

if u want u can clear up the mind flayer and koa toa areas later

Only some of their weapons and armor can't be taken out of the Underdark. It will say in the description if it cannot be taken out of there. I got Firetooth (+3 throwing dagger) there from a merchant, as well as a few other neat items.

One reason the Drow city is so easy to wipe out might be because all there warriors are supposed to be above ground fighting the goody elfs.

There is another thing: Don't wait the entire deadline to pass, even if you go to the place she tells you every time RIGHT AFTER she has spoken to you, you will meet here there.
And, don't just go around killing them all, you will miss a plot of treachery, doublecrossing, backstabing and intrigue, that is the most entertaining in the whole game.
