Golden Pantaloons (not a spoiler)

Post by Xanthar »

I' m passing on this little tidbit about the Golden Pantaloons because somewhere I had read that it was an enigma in the game. I got the Golden Pantaloons from the noble in the Friendly Arm Inn, went & identified them, then took them back to him. I got 100 exp. points & a tongue lashing from the noble. No one had ever said you couldn't take them back.

You probably know this by now, but if you plan on playing through the entire series with your characters (through TOB that is) it is worth it to keep the pantaloons- really worth it. If not, take the XP!

I took the XP points. It was easier, so that I wouldn't have to carry them around all the time I was playing the game.

You have to make sure you have a PC you like before you set off on all three games with the pantaloons. It is the longest quest in the games, because it covers BG, BG2:SoA, BG2:ToB. By the time you reach the end it is definately worth it, but it takes forever and it is easy to get bored.

Well all you have to do is keep in your inventory the pantaloons you get in the games.

You're not actually playing the entire game with pantaloons?why dont you store them in a chest or something then pick them up before your final fight.

pantaloons!

yeah, they're worth keeping. ;)

also, there's a guy on the second floor of an inn in BG proper (can't recall which one) with a name like "the shade" or something who will take them from you after a really amusing conversation.

Do you remember the name of the inn, Sologdin? I know that would be a SPOILER of sorts, but I'd like to know where exactly if you wouldn't mind? :)

the pantaloons are worth it in the end and since im on a mac comp there a bug in the game which gives u all of the pantaloons right away. Its great having them exept i don't have tob so i gotta wait also since its really buggy it alows them to be worn as boots. This is probaly just on my game cuz ive been editing on it for ages and ive did a few thing i shouldn't have done

Erenor, I believe it is the (highlight to see) Three Kegs Inn. And his name is "Mr. Shade".
Mitch:You know, um, something strange happened to me this morning... Chris Knight: Was it a dream where you see yourself standing in sort of sun-god robes on a pyramid with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at you?Mitch: No... Chris Knight:Why am I the only one who has that dream?
