What's a drexl? (spoiler)

Post by Clavius »

Any of you guys fans of the movie True Romance? Did you notice when you are on Onderon, talking to the beast rider where he is explaining the drexls, and your charachter says "what's a Drexl?" That can't be a coincidence. I laughed my ass off when I saw that line.

Sounds potentially cool - unfortunately it is an insider joke, and I'm an outsider.

Could you please explain? I love easter eggs!

I understand and I laughed my ass off also...But I still consider my self as an outsider.
I decend from grace in arms of undertow...

True Romance was a 1993 movie that starred Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Christopher Walken, Gary Oldman, Dennis Hopper, and even Sam Jackson and Brad Pitt among others. It's one of Quentin Tarinto's earliest writing efforts. It's a bizarre movie, in typical Tarinto fashion, full of violence and pop cultural references. The character played by Gary Oldman is named Drexl. And, hence, there is a line in the movie where one of the characters remarks "What's a Drexl?" or something to the like.

I haven't seen the movie in years, but that's as much of an explanation as I can provide. Anyway, it didn't even register when I played the game, until you pointed it out.
