Missing / No Lightsaber?

Hiya! *waves* I've been playing KOTR as a soldier & have become a Jedi Guardian.

I'm just about to enter Tatooine for the first time & was wondering WHEN can I use the LIGHTSABER that I constructed earlier on in the game?

Am I doing something wrong? I used to level & credits cheat & am on Level 20 already...

Can someone PLEASE tell me, HOW, WHEN & WHERE I can use my lightsaber?

You equip it like you'd equip any other weapon.

I've tried that. All my Jedi equipment are "shaded" red & when I try & equip them I get told that I do not have the prerequisites for that item...

Can someone tell me If I have done something wrong, or how to obtain those prerequisites please?

Just a guess, but try removing your armor if you are wearing anything besides your Jedi Robes. I was wearing Davik's armor and had no problem so I'm just guessing at this. It could also be the type of Jedi that you are. Sorry I couldn't help more at this time.

sounds like a glitch to me. ive always been able to equip my lightsaber as soon as I got it.

Never had a problem with it, then again I don't use cheats, and I tend to wear the jedi robes as soon as I become a Jedi.
Sounds a bit ominous to me, maybe the sith have corrupted you

He has a point. You use cheats at your own risk in any game. Try checking out the website of the person who made the cheat. Perhaps they have a forum with some kind of limited tech support.

Man I really wish there were no such things as cheats... they are so lame and the game isn't that hard.

As soon as you "construct" your lightsaber you can equip it. Armor does not restrict lightsaber use, you just need to have a level in one of the three Jedi classes and gain the proficiency.

If you cannot weild it, I would say your cheats are the reason. Don't use them! Bad mojo!

This is the problem exactly. Your character can't go over level 20, so he can't become a Jedi in your game, hence you can't use any of the equipment.

bah, i cheated too.
well, does one think there might be a cheat to subtract levels?
btw, the cheat desingers are the game-makers(bioware). Its the usual ~ key then type in cheat....

you must add the feat that allows you to use a lightsabre.
if you cannot get to a higher level i suggest you upgrade you best weapon and pretend that it is a lightsabre.

Your character has the ability to use a lightsaber from the start of the game without adding any specific feat for it.

indeed on the adding part, but lightsabers do require the first level of the lightsaber feat.

however, you are given this feat along with other jedi specific feats when you get the first level of whatever jedi class you chose. as previously stated, if your already level 20, then there isnt enough room for that 1 jedi level. likely your problem =/

Agreed, if he cheated to get Jedi status early (I'm a bit confused from that first post), then yes, he would have to add an initial lightsaber feat. But if he became a Jedi in the normal course of the game, he's granted that feat right away.

Btw, this is also the case with KotoR2. Any party members you make Jedis automatically gain immediate, effective use of a lightsaber. I only wish that kind of teaching was possible in the realworld.
