Earth Stone Mini-Quest (possible spoils) Roomates ready to kill

Ok, I realize that this Q has prolly been asked about a jillion and a half times. I have attempted to use the semi-unuseful search function as well. So please don't bite my head off.

I am at the "end" of the Earth Stone mini-quest in Bloodlines addition.

I have had journal update twice (apparently it requires a third update in the cave), and I have sounded all the bloody things for over an hour (real time...roomates ready to peel my eyeballs) in the same sequence & at the same time as the game does. I have sounded them in the same sequence not at the same time as the game does. It won't update and tell me to continue back to the stone.

(Ok...I have went back to the stone and tried to get it to believe that I have done everything all happily.....wrong it won't believe me...I even attempted "persuasion" whatta ya know..ya can't bribe inanmate objects

Now, back to the cave for second time.....

It just keeps on going...and going...and going...and going....just like the proverbial bloody rabbit.

Any suggestions?

I've been back to the game (again) and still am having the same problem.

Any ideas on how to get it right?
