The other night a friend passed me an updated list of mods now available for BG2. It had been a long time since I'd played, and I wasn't sure I'd end up ever playing again.
However, the Tsujatha NPC mod intrigued me.
For anyone who does not already know, he's a neutral evil elven necromancer who will romance a good-aligned human/elf female NPC.
Anyway, I'm not that far into it, but so far I think he's one the best NPCs I've ever downloaded. IMO, his character is very nicely developed, and he fits in well. He doesn't seem to have have a huge amount amount of dialogue with other party members, but what he does say cuts to the core. And his conversations with the PC are.... *grin*
So in part, I just wanted to mention the mod, and I was also curious about the impressions of anyone else who has installed it. btw, no spoilers please

He's number one on my npc mod list... Keto being a close second.
(Sry, I don't know if I spelt it right... but you know what I mean)
He's a little overpowered (you get him at lvl... 13? with tons of HP!) but as far as I'm concerned, he's the best NPC mod out there... great romance for a Female PC (Anomen is just annoying, and Kelsey isnt way better... and lets not talk about female/female remances... they just don't really make sense in the BG2 atmosphere.)

Sorry not to have replied soonerFaust wrote:How does he hold up for male PC's? Still worthwhile?
I don't know what Tsujatha is like when you aren't romancing him, but I'd guess he still has the inter party banters and so forth. I also read in his forums that apparently his epilogue in a non-romance is something to see
If you check the link I gave you above, be sure to take a look at the other forums. The same modder has created a female Drow fighter (Yasraena) who will be a friend to the PC, and she has lots of banter, plus an interesting story. You pick her up just at the escape from Chateau Irenicus.
I just began a new game with both Tsujatha and Yasraena in my party. I also have Minsc, Jan and Jaheira, plus the Banter Pack. Could be interesting
Well, he is a higher level than your starting party, but I don't find him that overpowered; even with all his buffing spells he is prone to dying easily if he's too close to the front lines .He's number one on my npc mod list... Keto being a close second.

I tend to agree about Tsujatha being the best female PC romance out there. Previously, I really liked Solaufein, but a lot of his dialogues feel slightly forced. Tsujatha is far more natural and believable.
Anomen and Kelsey are just not really personality types that fundamentally appeal to me, but I do think Kelsey is a high quality mod
Regarding the girl/girl thing. I have played with Chloe in my party. Once I had my PC romance her, and the other time I left her for Imoen. To be honest, I really enjoyed the mod, IMO, one of the best. Chloe's character is interesting and very well developed. For me, she fits into the Faerun landscape without a problem, and I didn't find her gender preferences anomalous at all. But, that sort of stuff is always going to be subjective

Thanks, I might give one of the mods a whirl at some point. I've not been terribly impressed with Kelsey. While I appreciate the depth of work that went into the NPC, his dialogue often seems to based in modern parlence, and somewhat lacking in insight to keep my hooked. Maybe this improves as I get further into SoA with him. As such, I've been eager to find other finely crafted NPC mods.

In truth, that is what concerned me with Kelsey, apart from his character not being my type. He comes across as a college student sometimes... For example, I find his reference to the Cowled Wizards as "fascists," a little incongruous. Though I guess the notion could have sort of existed in the Faerun culture...

I don't see why it wouldn't.
However, I'd say Keto (http://www.pocketplane.net/keto/) is basically the best mod NPC out there. As professionally developed as Kelsey, and an interesting and hugely talkative character and sidequest to boot. No overpowered nonsense either.
