There are a few posts on this, but...

This was one of the most frustating parts of the game for me. You just have to time it perfectly. I'm assuming you alread know what to do, seeing as you got to the fan... it's been a while since I played this bit, I have to admit. My only advice is to flick the switch, dive and swim like your being chased by god knows what. Good luck

PS. Superfluousness...

Yeah, position yourself as far away from the switch as possable, flick it and then run / swim like you're being chased by a warewolf ^^

Hmm! we are assuming that you ve switched the fan off at the computer before trying to do this!
The way is easy,
1 Turn off the flow
2 wait till the lights turn green
3 turn the flow on again
4 run to the end of platform and jump off
5 swim like the guys says[ as if a were wolf is snapping at your arse]

if you dont know what thats like, dont worry you will! hehe :p

yeh i worked it out. my mistake was waiting for the noise before i ran. i just flipped the switch and bolted so was already there when the noise began.

oh a tip for further on. with the pot-bellied cratures. i find if you lure one back to where you crouch under the gate you can kill it through the gate without being hurt. just a thought that may help those having problems there.
