What kind of fantasy books do you think are good

My personal favorite is the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. His first 4 wre fantastic, then the next 3 were based too much around secondary characters for my liking, now the last 2 were a return to his roots of writing. Absolutly awesome.

I love the Shannara books by Terry Brooks. Right now I'm reading Moragwr, which is the third book in the Voyage of the Jerle Shannara trilogy. I read one of Robert Jordan's books (can't remember the title, but it came out last year.). I'm planning on going back and reading his other books at one point. I also enjoyed reading the Valdemar series by Mercedes Lackey.
