Bao-Dur and Shuttle Crash Site (Spoilers)

Post by Popcorn »

In the Walkthrough it said

“Shuttle Crash Site:
After your landing, you awaken to the face of Bao-Dur, a trooper who served under you in the Mandalorian Wars. He'll be a required member of your party for awhile, and he's great with his bare hands and feet, so give him the best armour you have and talk to him a bit for some influence if you're considerate.”

I’ve tested every option but still don’t get any influence with him until I free him in the Polar academy.
When and where is the first time you can get influence over Bao-Dur?

According to the guide on gamefaqs, you are correct. It doesn't list any influence before the academy. So, I guess that's an error in the walkthrough.

bao has great skills but i find he just runs blindly thru any minefields he sees and that drives me nuts.

Try setting his stance to 'stationary', I usually do that when a potentionally dangerous situation turns up.

All party memebers run straight through minefields if you let them ;)

When you think about it though, the only real influence options come in the peaceful areas, where you have an option to do one thing or another, and the area's from where you meet Bao-Dur up til you reach the academy or entirely combat based except for the lost Twi-Lek.

I really liked Bao-Dur, good character, great skills, and makes a pretty reasonable Jedi Guardain as well. Kept him with me a lot of the time.

Bao-dur gains influence when you help people out.

He won't really talk to you so you can't do it through diologue after Telos.

But yeh ... he makes a really crappy Jedi ... so keep him as a tech specialist.

He goes down to 3 skill points per level ... so he's not really a tech specialist anymore. He's better with unarmed+dueling than with a sabre. And here's the best part ... he can't equip any jedi armor, basically it's either naked ... or no forcepowers.

I agree that he's a better character if you don't train him but if you *have* to have as many Jedi as possible, T3 can step in for him as a techie.

I disagree that putting him in armor leaves him with no force powers. There are plenty of powers that aren't restricted by armor, Force Wave among them. He's a guardian and should rely on his lightsaber anyway.

As an aside, the game's so easy I think everyone should go naked. (In the game, of course. Keep your clothes on, kiddies).

He really isn't that bad a Jedi, and like has been said, there isn't THAT many powers that are restricted by armor, and most of those powers are restricted by overall level only, so its probably worth it because within a few levels he can have Force Wave and Master Heal, which is more than enough for a "backup" Jedi.

If you leave it til later he still has more than enough skill points already spent, you don't really need the others. I only started training him at about level 17 or so.
