I am in HOW at the goblin fortress and just reached lvl 20. My lead character is a female human bard. spell progess has slowed way down and my next spell level won't be till lvl 22. Putting lvls into bard almost seems a waste, yet at the same time starting a new class thier abilities will be far from stunning. I've been considering having her start taking levels as either a Silverstar of Selune or Morninglord of Lathander.
The rest of my party is:
Halfling ranger1/Barb.19
Human fighter2/Druid18
Halfling rogue7/Denmark of Mask13
Human Paladin of Mystra2/Evoker19
Tiefling Conjurer 19
Any suggestions or ideas?
Question with leveling
There is a whole thread on multi-classing up above there. Some of the ideas would go great.
It would help to know what your stats are. All we know for sure is that your bard has high charisma and likely a decent wisdom (if you're considering cleric).
My first suggestion would be, a level of paladin. Improved saves could help.
My second suggestion would be 4 levels of fighter and specialization in a ranged weapon. This would be a better idea if she has high dex.
You don't need a rogue or a druid, levels in those would be wasted.
I also can't see what you'd gain in less than 11 levels of cleric besides a few extra buffs. Then again, those buffs could be important in the end. I still haven't finished off HoF. Like you, I'm in the goblin warrens.

i think both cleric classes are fine... if you have the wisdom to cast the lower level spells. paladin would be nice, if the lawful good requirement didn't clash with the non-lawful status of the bard.
but i'd go one of two ways:
- if the bard is combat-centric a few levels in fighter or barbarian would be better.
- if the bard is casting-centric, putting in sorcerer levels will be best since the additional spontanous spells will only improve upon your current list, and you no longer really need all the bardic skills, i would think. not sure on that. but you'd have to plan your spells since your abyssmal caster level will make saves by enenmies against your spells quite an easy matter
there is ONE consolation of keeping up with bard is that if you do not, then spells that allow a save from the enemy would begin to get easier for them to save as the levels close in on 30.

it is your choice to choose the cleric, which you seem much decided to... so go ahead.
it would be nice, but know that your bard spell DCs will no longer increase with the cleric levels. the buffs might help and would be quite nice. it would take some weight of the only other cleric with bull strength i suppose. your cure wounds would not benefit anyone much tho...
as you yourself has said, if you're not comfortable with the new classes givin less comparative benefit, you should go for more combat centric classes like the fighter or barbarian. both clerics, and the suggested sorcerer would give you negligible save DCs so only buff spells would be of much use. the extra feats gained, and the possibility to specialize and improve crit the bow might help, while rage is, pardon the pun, still quite in the rage, esp if you have decided to forego further bard levels.
