As I recall, someone once found a way to activate Boo as a separate party NPC. Its stats were extaordinarily high. Can't remember who it was, though, and the whole thing may have been deliberate nonsense.
Cool a MEGA BOO! I want one

I didn't play the game long (I got nwn and I like that system better...) but I hate the one guy who just walks around saying "we're all doomed" all the time. I hate him with a passion...
I also hate Aerie and all those paladins. I generally play neutral evil so when I act my alignment they all whine and most of my party leaves me.
Jaheira was alright except for her whining and Yoshimo was cool. I HATED IMOEN. I actually let her die in the dungeon in the beginning and... well.. it was funny to see the plot still running XD

You must mean Xan
I tend to love all characters with extreme personalities. Korgan's bloodlust, Jaheira's "Don't touch me" attitude, Haer'Dalis' obsession with women and Xan ofcourse, one of the best characters in the series! You got to love his "Onward. To futility!" quotes
I dislike (I don't hate any NPC, I just like some more than others) the "generic" characters, like Keldorn or Aerie.

This may well sound pathetic or something, but my favourite character by far was Aerie, and as such I hated Korgan and Viconia because they both picked on her. Thus I also liked the characters who were nice to her, especially Minsc, Mazzy (my tank), and Imoen, but Nalia did get annoying eventually. Jan drove me crazy. Haer'dalis tried to take Aerie - didn't like him. I didn't really have much to do with Anomen or Valygar or Cernd or some of the others so I don't have much of an opinion. Bodi was a pain but Irenicus was interesting. Yeah, some of the philosophy was a bit bodged, but... anyway I thought he was interesting. Saemon drove me mad, but he made me grin at the same time. Jaheira could be irritating sometimes, but not unbearable, and I took her because it felt cruel to dump her. Edwin I would gladly have killed, and Korgan I did.
Anyway what's the problem with Mind Flayers? Mazzy took them down fine. And I play an elven thief so I never needed Yoshimo.

Give us the gate key.
I have no gate key.
Fezzik, tear his arms off.
Oh, you mean this gate key?

Mindflayers discussion is over in the BG2/SoA forum. I understand your attraction to Aerie. She's probably the closest thing in the game to an "abuse survivor" personality, one that's been through hell and back for years. It's natural for some people to feel sympathy for this, or to put themselves in her shoes. Others are surprisingly antipathetic. There seems to be no neutral ground where she's concerned.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

I always appreciated it when they made the effort to record voices too - even if some of the voices are a bit suspect.

Nalia. She may be one-dimensional, but she's got backbone and she eventually gets to tell Jaheira where to stick her selfrighteous opinions. That's our girl
Bodhi. Yes, she's a selfconscious villainess, but she doesn't pretend to be anythign else. I love the glee she takes in doing the dirty on you over and over again.

I'd love to say Jaheira and Anomen. I deliberately snub J in BG1 because her attitude and voice annoy me so much, but I stuck with her through BG2 for her quests and found her development quite interesting. Damn Bioware for making me waver!
Same goes for Anomen - he starts out being unbearably smug, arrogant and having the worst voice in the world... but something about that tenacious pursuit made me give in eventually (although he did have to get Bodhi-ed before I'd let my NPC suggest she really did love him and wasn't just using him as a sex object).
Melissan. I've only just started TOB for the first time (up in the Marching Mountains right now), and she's already made an indelibly bad impression. The portrait is appallingly poor, the voice is absurd (where does that intonation come from?!) and she's about as credible as a do-gooder as...as... Minsc is as a philosopher.
All the rest I don't have strong opinions on. They've got their good sides and bad sides, and I've a soft spot for my ickle sister, but they don't evoke such a satisfying response.
