Overly Excited Man Spilled His Beer

Post by mmc4587 »

<possible minor spoiler>

WOW!

I played Zelda: Ocarina of Time a long while back and decided to get a game in the same vain for my PC. ..MORROWIND is awesome, overwhelming yet awesome!!! --OK, anywhoo...

In my elation at how open ended and incredibly cool the game is, I looted and bartered 40+K and a large room full of stuff before realy getting tied down to factions/guilds. Mostly this is a plus because when a Guild leader asks for an item, I can often recall to "my" manor ("borrowed" from the dead guy on the floor, who I didn't kill, and his wife, who I've locked in the bedroom) and return without having to travel the world over for some stupid flower or amulet.

Here is the problem: It seems I am no longer in possesion of certain plunder required to free New-Shoes Bragor, Death Row, Fort Pelegiad, Vv. I must have sold it for cash at any of the dozen or so villages I have been too (of which most have dozens of individuals who barter) or dropped it b/c of a bad cash:weight ratio in some random corner or box I have pillaged.

Mebestien Ence, a trader in Dwemer Artifacts, was supposed to provide me with a Dwemer Artifact(s) for blackmailing an Orc guard into liberating Mr. New-Shoes.

The Dwemer Artifict(s) are not in his abode (I have looked) or on his person I have killed him.

I have tried blackmailing the Orc guard with other Dwemer artifacts: rusty coggs and odds and ends, Dwemer armour and weapons, and various Dwemer kitchen wares don't seem to do the trick. I take them to the trader who is offended that I insinuate he is a criminal. I take them to the Orc guard he/she (I realy can't tell) who remains oblivious to the artifacts. I alter her dispositon, I go through every dialogue option, and I have even attempted to plant stolen/illegal goods on her/his person (I was arrested, every time). NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK.

What is the Dwemer artifact in question?
Am I doing something wrong?
Perhaps you know where I can go get another such artifact?
PS: I haven't looted Nchuleftingt/Nechurdamz,

Minor Questions

I am having trouble with "on touch" magica. This is fine for opening doors and such but i want to affect humanoids with consistancy. I get within touching range (their name pops up over their head) and cast the spell like paralize. This spell has a 100 chance of working, but this almost never gets results. In my mind I should cast this spell, and when anyone comes too close (for the duration of the spell) they freeze. Effectively allowing me to pick pockets/assasinate/escape. Right now I can only handle 2 people because I must use "on target" and "on strike" spells.

I read this book on Prayer. It says that an unbeleiver can pray and pay the shrine for certain blessings. Super simple.. I pray, I pay, lots of magical fairy light ensues from the shrine. HOWEVER, my stats menu does not change.
For example, the book says that such and such shrine willbestow a blessing which will fortify health. , but after receiving the blessing numerous times, my health remains at a lethargic 115/119.

The head mage in Balamora is an "old chair polisher" and is not liked by many individuals. I am currently refusing to eliminate any more individuals for her and have instead started taking orders from another mage hall. Are there any downsides to this? Is it nesicary to advance in each guild hall, or can you pick just one?

I stole a devil tanto from a Mage chick and replaced it with a fiend tanto. I was not seen by anyone (I paid a Mage guide to transport me to the nearly empty hall so the guard never was anywhere close to spotting me) and so i am wondering if it was realy nesicary to do this, as it's replacement cost thousands more septims.

Also. I am thinking of joining a Great House. The individuals in the game seem to have a lot of respect for the people of the Redoran House, and my visits give me a better impression of House Redoran than House Hliaalu. Before I make my decision though I want to check out the Tellvanii. The Tellvanii seem to be jerks (they dig slavery and such) but i wanted to see for my self so to speak. Trouble is, I can't interact with them. Example:

I try to go and talk to the Tellvanii Mage on the island on the east shore (he looks pretty awesome by the by) but he only attacks me. I have tried several diff things. Perhaps I am not at a high enough level? But I am level 15 I say!

Oh, as long as i am here perhaps you might tell me where I can find teh book Vampires of Vv? If they are located in Vivec, don't bother to reply because that is where I am going to search next, thanks.

Thanks for taking the time to read/answer any/all of my questions.

[/QUOTE]1)Do you have the items needed for each particular shrine and joined the temple (not sure if this necessary yet)?
Btw, for the normal shrines, they only cure things.

2)You must complete a set amount of quests to become the head of the Mage's Guild, I have never been a part of them so I wouldn't know how many quests you must complete.

3)I very much doubt it's necessesity

4)Redoran are noble warriors who are honest, honourable people. They are devout worshippers of the Tribunal. Hlaalu lower ranking members believe the that slavery should stop and aren't racist like some other Dunmer. Higher ranking Hlaalu's and nobles are all inevitibly corrupt and controled by the Commona Tong kingpin, Orvas Dren, a brother of the current duke of Vvardenfell. The only noble not corrupt is an Imperial by the name of youknowwhoI'mtalkingabout, he is..... wierd and gay and can be easily manipulated. It's easier if you're a man :p . Telvanni are age-old wielders of magic, they do not concern themselves about politics, they send their mouths while they dabble in their arcane experiments. On Vvardenfell however, because of the incessent land-grabbing by both Hlaalu and Telvanni's younger members eager to have strongholds and dominions of their own, Telvanni is much more politicaly aware than their brethren on the mainland.

5)Some isolated Telvanni will attack no matter what (unless you are Telvanni) because they are necromancers, rogue wizards etc. However, I highly suspect that the cause of this is because of the animosity between the Mage's Guild and Telvanni. Although I am not precisely sure about this as I have never been in the Mage's Guild.

Hope this helps,

I remember reading a couple of years ago that it remains in the game as the sole representative of a much larger conflict that was supposed to actively encompass the guilds and houses. The latter was abandoned because of resource constraints during development.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
