I'm not exactly sure how the two are related, but as you all probably know the "governing attribute" of Security is Intelligence and Intelligence(from what I can gather from it's description) determines your max magicka. So does Intelligence actually have any effect on Security?
It makes total sense that an idiot couldn't pick a lock or disarm a trap, but I'd like to know how the two are actually related.

Both attribute and skill level are factored in to determining success at any given skill. So if you're not having success with a skill-based action, consider getting a temporary boost out of an appropriate Fortify Attribute potion. It can make a major difference.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
I assumed it had a hand in the success rate of the skill, but they should print that in the manual and put it in the attrubute's description. Oh well, thanks. It's not the first time a manual has been incomplete and/or given wrong information.

ok i guess that your guy/girl would have to be kinda smart to pick a lock...i mean if you just walked over to it and had no idea what you were doing i dont think you could pick it....so thats why they proboly put securitys governing attribute as intelligence

I addressed the obvious in my original post, so there's no need to point it out a second time, I was just wondering if the two were actually connected because there's no mention of Intelligence having an effect on Security in the manual other than the fact that it's the "governing attribute" and I've played a few other games where there were discrepencies between the manual and the actual mechanics of the game so I wanted to be sure before I go boosting Intelligence.
