level up

Post by Chrizum »

I did all the quests and explored everything in BG1 (without TotSC), and I can walk to te palace to battle the last boss, but I want to level up a bit first. What is the best place with lotsa big monsters roaming around, for fast exp?
Thanks.

Well if you've done all the non-expansion BG1 quests, then it sounds like your next step is the quests in TotSC.

I'd love to, but TotSC doesn't work on my computer :(

There are a few great spots to earn quick XP if you don't mind resting a lot. The first one is along the coast in AR3600: SPOILER There is a cave here that contains some great treasure and 3 Flesh Golums (each worth 2000 XP, but remember that they require magical (+1 or greater) weapons to hit them!) These beasties respawn most of the time when you rest, so go crazy! Another very simple area is the farm north of the Friendly Arm Inn: SPOILER This whole area is crawling with Ankhegs that are worth around 950 XP each! Just walk around and wait for them to spring up. Don't forget that they have decent AC and HP and their poison missile attack can take down most mages in one hit! Searching unexplored locales can also lead to some decent fun XP. Leave no stone unturned and no quest unfinished and you'll rack up the XP pretty fast.
