I'm not a fan of that dirty south stuff, I prefer the eastcoast - although Cunninlynguists kick ass. Probably because I don't know decent dirty south artists. I don't like most of Outkast's songs though, some are all right, but that's it. And I hate Nelly, but I hate Ja Rule too and he's eastcoast  . If the music is good I don't care about where it was made. Or how it was made. I don't care if it's a DJ who uses computerized equipment or a whole orchestra with all it's instrument to make a songs.
That's so right, I mean it's called singing is it, why don't they sing then.
Exactly! It grates on my nerves hearing some person mumble incoherantly as loud as he can something he took the time to write. Maybe because I used to write constantly, but knowing that someone wrote something, with the express interest to get on stage/record and perform with it and doing it in a way no one can understand it is just horrible to me.

Totally agree with you there, good stuff. ;)

Rap's alright. But I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to it, when I have other music to listen to. I generally listen to pop/rock, folk, occasionally country (though it's not my favorite-though I do like Big&Rich). I dunno about hip-hop, and I don't care at all for heavy metal. That about sums it up. I can't think of anything else, but I'm sure there's something I've forgotten.
I wanted to change my sig, but I can't think of anything to change it to :(

The reason why I hate most of the rap/hip-hop songs just came to my mind. It's just that poser style of those famous rappers that is disgusting. If they would rap about real things it could (not would) be fun. I mean most of them only brag about 21 rims exclusive partys and stuff. That's not my life

Well, a warrior's life as described in Iron Maiden would be more your life?

An acid like experience like Radiohead, or maybe your life is more like the libertines': "There's a campaign of hate. It's waiting at the school gates"

I don't think so, mister...

Not that it is my life, but it sounds much more interesting to be a warrior than a party boy :p

And not only the warrior life as discribed in Iron Maiden's lyrics is like his life. Also the songs about killing indians (Run To the Hills) flying airplanes (Aces Highs) sinister devilish things (Number of the Beast, Can I play with Madness, and much more) and being hung (Hallowed be thy name) :p

EDIT: Sorry I wrote Shallowed instead of Hallowed, I was thinking about a Red Hot Chili Peppers song

This is one reason why Eminem was/is popular. He raps more about real things that people who listen to rap experience.

Well, I can appreciate rap for its part of the triangle with Punk and Ska, But apart from that, I do not really enjoy it. An exception is Eminem, who, for some reason, always struck me as uite melodic

Hip-Hop needs to be burned though :D
Mag: Don't remember much at all of last night do you?
Me: put simply.... No :D
Mag: From what I put together of your late night drunken ramblings? Vodka, 3 girls, and then we played tic-tac-toe and slapped each other around.

Neither mine. And I don't listen to their music. I love Hip Hop anyway.

Actually I never bothered to pay attention to him until my brother wanted a cd and I actually listened to his 3 cd when I got it for him. I have more respect for him than a lot of artists out there period, regardless of the type of music. I can relate with his message about his past. I've been in a lot of the same situations when I was little. That takes balls to sing about IMO, your own screwed up life. FAR more worthy to pay attention to than some guy singing about getting stoned, laid and shooting up a place I say.

Most of what I listen to has a message I can relate to in the lyrics. I love the bands that have a song I can really get a feeling of attachment to for that reason. If I can listen to lyrics and think "hey, I've been there" or "hey, I'm feeling that way RIGHT NOW" I'll be into it. I don't want a song babbling about things I can't relate to, it irritates me. I suppose thats why country grates on me so. I don't care about trucks, dogs or women dissapearing. Well, maybe the women, but not trucks or dogs.
