Have no Clue and Need One(Possible Spoilers)

Post by Xanthar »

 Needing HelpAs I read thru the BG walkthrough; I discovered a few very useful and heavy duty items that could be found, but the locations of these items are confusing to me. The Cloak of Balduran is in the basement of the Blushing Mermaid w/ Quenash, I have never run into anyone like that. The Gauntlets of Ogre Power are supposed to be w/ an NPC Desreta at the Low Lantern, where is that? And the Helm of Glory is w/ an NPC Jardek somewhere in (AR0200), I have no clue where this is? Could someone PLEASE help, I know these may be SPOILERS for some, but I would like to know.

THANKS,
Xanthar

Well, how far along are you in the game?
The Blushing Mermaid, Low Lantern, and Ar0200 are all in Baldur's Gate, which cannot be accessed until Chapter 5.

I am just about to the end, I am ready to go after Sarevok in the Palace. I was just wondering if I had missed the items along the way.

Actually, you should still be able to retrieve them, being that all the items are in Baldur's Gate....
Mitch:You know, um, something strange happened to me this morning... Chris Knight: Was it a dream where you see yourself standing in sort of sun-god robes on a pyramid with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at you?Mitch: No... Chris Knight:Why am I the only one who has that dream?

The problem I am having is that I have not run into the NPC's that have 2 of the items and I have no clue where (AR0200) is on the map. That is the information that I am actually looking for. From what I have played there is no actual basement of the Blushing Mermaid just the Underceller. Where do I need to go.

Okay.
The Gauntlets are the easiest to get. The Low Lantern is the big boat in S Baldur's Gate(the docks). It only requires a fight.

The Helm also only requires a fight. The fight is in one of the houses in AR0200. That area is the one with the Palace. The house is one just north of the palace.

The Cloak requires a good sized quest. The quest begins in a house in NW Baldur's Gate - the area with Entar's estate. The house is the big grey/white one. Be prepared for a crazy fight upon entering. This quest is for another object which leads to getting the Cloak. The other object ain't too bad either.

I went after the Gauntlets at the Low Lantern, but the NPC that is supposed to have them was not there. I ran into Lobar, 3 noblemen,2 noblewomen, the bartender, and 2 gamers, but no other NPC's. Now what?

Thanks,
Xanthar

Which level/floor of it did you check? There are 3 levels/floors, and the one w/ the gauntlets of Ogre Power is on the second, towards the left side of the level/floor.
