Guardian

Post by hala »

Hey

I started playing as a guardian, and got a question...
I am planning on putting my feats into 2 weapons, criticals, flurry (hope i got it right) and maybe power attack.
Thing is, I get 2 feats in level 2 and 3, anything good I should invest them into?
And what is better, to raise my STR or my DEX (with finess)

thanks....

as a guardian don't get finesse...finesse only effects your to-hit not your damage...you'll want very balanced strength dex and const as all three are important for a jedi in melee...pick one or 2 of those 3 atacks i'd recomend flurry and critical strike also you'll want 2 weapon fighting toughness perhaps force or vitality regenerate conditioning and more...you get so many feats so expand and have fun with some of them

for my guardian i liked

master two weapon fighting
master flurry
master crit hit
master melee weapons
master toughness

and try to go with STR if you can.
i have the strength belt and sith power gauntlets, so my STR is like 25 or something.

...

Well is there anything good to put my first 2 feats to?
V. Regenerate, 2 hands, crits, are all for level 4. What to do in level 2 & 3? nothing good there.

Get toughness. Maybe heavy armor.

Good or Evil?

I personally think it's better to go pure strength. At the later stages of the game, dispite ruining my character (was a 21 guardian/5 WM) I was able to defeat almost anybody in a single round with Master Critical and the crit multiplier form.

You feats depend highly on your choice of weapon, two-handed lightsaber = Flurry, dual-lightsabers = Critical Strike. You might as well get them all since you should have quite a few left over feats.

When it comes to feats, I go master two weapon, lightsaber mastery, and master flurry. I don't use anything else but Flurry, because Master Flurry is essentially an extra attack for free. I found power attack to be somewhat of a waste.

In terms of Dex vs Str, it depends on what you prefer. Your character will do more damage per hit with a Str focus, but will have a higher to hit rate and AC if you go dex based. I wouldn't call one inherintly superior to the other. It is all a matter of taste.

the craziest character I ever had was my first character: a LS female guardian/weaponmaster. With full equipment she had a Str of 40. With Master Flurry, Master Speed, and her sick double bladed lightsaber, she could do well over 300 damage a turn. The Traya academy was a breeze. Sion and Nihilus were a pair of jokes (it was funny to watch Visas moan about how strong Nihilus was even though the both of us were at near full health)
