Help in Alley of Lingering *Spoilers*

Post by kopolee11 »

Ok, I just went to the pregnant wall, who told me to undo the dabus’s work. I went into the house with the dead dabus and I saw the image of his death. Unfortunately, my inventory was filled and I thought I already had a hammer and this was useless. So I left the house, told the dabus outside to go investigate and now he is stuck. I undid the work to the east with the crowbar. However, when I tried the other I found out that you need the hammer to undo the work there. So I became a fighter again to try the other hammers, but none were successful.
My question to you guys is, do I have to restart the game or is there another hammer that can undo the dabus’s work. Thank you in advance, I really hope I don’t have to restart my game, just when the story was starting to pick up. :)

hmm...tough one. Do you have a hammer in your inventory? If not, go to SW hive. Tylero's Steel should have a basic hammer for you to buy (SPOILER - alternatively you could kill a Dabus and take one, though you'll have a maze to get through). If you've got a hammer and it still won't let you undo the repairs, you probably will have to resort to going back on an old used game. Surely, you have a saved game prior to entering that area?

Yes, I do have several types of hammers in my inventory, however I couldn't use them on the repairs. I went to the Merchant and I couldn’t use those hammers on the repairs either. However, I didn't try killing a dabus which would work because I have already been mazed :D
Unfortunately, I did not have a save point before which was very stupid on my part. Thank you Faust, I'm glad I (probably) won't have to restart.

I might try that, then. It's the only thing I can think of (outside of making sure you've got the right kind of hammer). There might be a cheat you could use, but I'm not familiar with that.

Killing the dabus worked. I am now in the Lower Ward. Thank you Faust. :)

There is actually a hammer in the house with the dead Dabus. It is either on him or in a box or crate, etc.

Right. Unfortunately, his problem is that he's already locked out of that house. He forgot to loot the hammer prior to telling the other dabus to go investigate.
