Twisted Rune
Twisted Rune
I used the rogue stone to get in and killed the lich. What is supposed to happen next? I got some minor items and a lot of gold from the corpse and that's it. I cannot activate the cauldron. There is a message something about the path remains...Can't activate the statue? either since something else needed to be done first. No clue as to what though. I can't even get out of the place as the door seems to be a deadend. Help anyone?
Wrong door maybe,I do believe there is two doors right there one goes to the lich , the other to the twist ruin.

Remember the man in the grave.Go to where you tracked down the men who tried to bury him. In the bridge dist. Right there is a door that can only be opened with a rogue stone.

Seabass is definately right here ..
You must have a dialog with Shangalar , then he summons(call)his companions.

I don't think , there are any clues that leads to Twisted Rune . Mine happened by chance luckily i had a rogue stone on me and i was surprised a bit thus my party was not enough for that challenge ..It took many reloads but at the end , i felt like i was the only owner of Staff of Magi among the players in world . (What an honor!)

Someone (I don't know exactly who) here on this site discovered this by accident a while back, and posted up the info on it. Other players read it and tried it for themselves.
Anyway, as for the Twisted Rune itself, this was intended by the people at Bioware as a high level quest, for parties that had somehow 'outgrown' the city of Athkatla. In the end, they cut it however, for some unknown reasons. Whatever the case, it seems the Twisted Rune is somehow related to the Guarded Compound - a guy named Koshi who is there supposedly wrote down the location to the Rune - which by itself is a room which is weird enough.
To enter the Twisted Rune, you must go to the Bridge District and find one of the doors to the lower right of the map. Be careful, there are some nasty traps on the doors leading to the Rune, and to the Lich tomb. With the right door (says something like a strange darkness beyond), make sure you have AT LEAST 1 Rogue Stone in your backpack (Not in a bag of holding, or a gembag, but really in a backpack slot). Upon entering, all Rogue Stones in your backpack will disappear, and you get teleported to the Twisted Rune.
In the Twisted Rune you'll encounter the Lich, who summons forth a few friends. One is a tough fighter, there's a vampire, and Beholder (Evil Eye really) and a wizard of sorts. After defeating them, you'll find a Staff of the Magi on the wizard, and a Beholder Eye Stalk on the Beholder. You'll need the Stalk to get out of there again. Toss it into the cauldron, and activate the statue next. This will bring you back to the Bridge District.
