dominate mind vs persudae

Post by dorian_gray »

if i am going to use dominate mind, do i also need to take persuade? Does one override the other? Or does it just improve the persuade skill? Or is it a totally seperate thing altogether?

Totally seperate. Affect/Dominate usually results in more 'extreme' results, but in general persuade has more applications. In some cases, however, they do in fact overlap.

Persuade isn't necessary per se, but it can certainly be useful. Both can be useful (I took both), and since you will probably find the game easy and have an excess in powers, I recommend taking dominate mind.

Just keep in mind that using Affect/Dominate Mind might give you a DSP if you used it for personal gain, while Persuade don't (even if you get similar result), so to a LS player Affect/Dominate Mind is slightly less usefull then Persuade.

well... if you go with dominate mind you'll have the skill points to spend on other things like repair and such. both are definately usefull but if let's say you're a guardian with one skill point per level then this might be usefull.

Some people cannot be persuaded while others are force immune. On Telos I hardly found a soul to use Force Persuade on, while there were loads of persuasive options. I'd go for the skill if I'd have to choose one of the two, but getting both would probably be better.

i would definatly recommend taking both, they each have individual uses.
And NO sprinkles,
for every sprinkle I find I shall kill you!
