trouble with sheriff in behemoth form ***SPOILERS***
I have gotten to the point where the sheriff turns into the flying beast and throws me down to the balcony area. I have noticed that there are two guys that shoot only him and there are two werewolf "like" beasts running around. The guys never attack me but the "werewolves" constantly do. I have tried during the whole mission to kill them but they do not die. I have also stood under the lights and tried to kill the sheriff but the "werewolves" end up killing me. I cannot win either way.
Any suggestions?

Yeah those werewolf dudes will keep coming at u. Even after u kill them they spawn back two at a time. I played a toreador and with the use of celerity i was able to handle both the sheriff and the werewolf like creatures. But the trick here is TIMING TIMING TIMING. You gotta put on the lights and when that guy is flapping on the ground, I suggest u use the FLAMETHROWER. Use the whole thing on it and then go to the other light and do the same.
About the werewolves well waste them just before u switch on the light so that u have that time in between to waste the flapping bat sheriff as the werewolves will take time spawning and attacking u again. This is how I did it and man this is like the main boss fight so ofcourse u cant expect him to go down that easy. THE FINAL FIGHT, man. Use bloodpacks if u have them although I went through the entire game without using a bloodpack even once just as a challenge to myself. KEEP AT IT.

I have noticed that the "wolf like" creature guys run away during certain points of the fight. They scream and retreat and then come after me. Is there a reason why? I have been using that retreat towards my advantage, but just wondering why they retreat.
Also, I have been around the lights and in the darkness and they still scream and retreat. At first, I thought it was the lights that made them retreat, but that does not stop them from coming after me.

My fight with him was kinda cheap you could say after he tossed me out the window with that bat form of his. I took cover by one of the walls and crouched. Those wolf form vampires came over to fight me so I plugged a few rounds into them and eventually they walked off as the sheriff swooped in at me. However he swooped down and landed on the fence where he got glitched/hung up. From my crouched position under him, I aimed my gun straight up and in about 30 shots from my rifle had him dead and he never hit me once. I'm gonna call that lucky.

Spoiler
There are about three places on the rooftop where both the Sherrif and the respawning gangrels will lose track of you if you crouch and hide. Correction, the respawning gangrels might find you a couple of times, but attacking them from a concealed position is very advantageous. From one of these positions, the sherrif loses track of you and does the following stupid thing: He hovers in your line of sight. When he hovers, you can take him with the "Jamie Sue" in about six shots.

guard detail
those wolfie things are an annoyance, but my tip on the situation is this
hit f9 as you fall then run to the nearest spotlight and hit E to turn it on - then fire up the flamethrower and often those little gits will try to attack you just as the Behemoth falls so that both they and it are within a small arc of fire - literally of fire if you flame the three of them. the B rises and hits the beam again - because the wolfies haven't smashed it - you them get to flame it again - depending on your good fortune, in about 3 falls, the B is ash. the T-blade plus celerity 5 is a decent substitute for the grill, but riskier.
providing that the first wolfies come at you from the right and that the B swoops - it is no problem - sometimes they are not so helpful, but at best, I have finished the B off in less than a minute. Frankly, the Sheriff can be more trouble usually. communing him and turning quicky before he catches up worked for the gangrel, but different clans need to deal with him in different ways - I recall making him "suicide" did a lot of damage, but used a lot of bloodpoints.
good luck and good timing

What is wrong with you guys? If you can't deal with the grangels you've probably not been putting enough points into combat skills or you haven't been using enough tomes. As for the sheriff, I didn't even use the flamethrower. I had only a firearms skill of 3 (2 tomes and Romeo) and I knocked the sheriff out of the sky with the Jas. I was hardly damaged at that. I didn't even use a bloodpack. Not insulting anyone but if you had put too much into like seduction or sneaking at the expense of combat well...

I happen to like role-play and if I see vamps as smooth and sneaky rather than tanks, then I'll play it that way.
I find those gangrels are an irritation, not a particular challenge - I normally have melee/brawl at 4/5 so don't think my characters cannot handle themselves in a straight fight. the flamer just happens to be my favourite way of eliminating the Behemoth and - as a point of style - I like to fry the gangrels at the same time - so much easier than swapping from ranged to melee modes.
personally, I enjoy the kick of the colt anaconda blasting the beast from the air, but being pragmatic - dealing a lot of damage very quickly is the best way to get rid of your boss.

Yes you can role-play, but role-lay sensibly! No offense but you can't seduce or sneak your way past Ming Xiao, La Croix's elite troopers or the sheriff. Like it or not, most of the missions in this game are combat based. If you don't commit enough into it you can't finish the game. Besides, I said 'at the expense of combat'. I did manage to max out sneaking while still maxing out combat stats.
Seriously though, to take out the sheriff just requires some FPS'ing skills - something which I'm sure most people have. I found that by using the Jaegerspas XV I had a much easier time than using the Jaime Sue because of the area effect from the shot. Aim ahead of the flying sheriff wait for him to enter the crosshairs and fire. No problemo.

personaly I like to use the blade to kill the vampires on the roof I go after them then crouch and kill the sheriff. I really like the colt or the spaz they work really well for me.before the sheriff turns to a bat I use the blade on him it was so much easier than trying to shoot him and he hardly got a shot at me saved alot of blood that way lol. However the guys on the roof have taken pot shots at me more than a few times.I save my flamethrower for Ming love to burn her!!!!!
