right well as you all must know im a newbie still so im not that far in so my best battle will be something pathetic. anyways, i think i like the gnoll stronghold thingy, mainly cos i had Imoen and my main character with bows shotting anything within range, with the rest of the NPC just chraging at them if they reached me and slaughtering them, it was even more interesting when i gave Imoen and my main character oil of speed lol. it was a blood massacre!!! lovely i tell you!

Keep up the good work with missile weapons. I personally use them with 4/6 characters just to keep enemies at bay. The stronghold is a really good fight for low level characters, though. Good choice.

Yeah, though it annoys me that I often turn out to be out of ammunition, even though I packed like 300 missles a person. All those gnolls and Xvarts require a lot of shooting, even though they die after just one or two shots. I can manage to get through Gnoll Stronghold without getting to an ammo shortage, but then you also have the area north of the Stronghold, which can give you quite some interesting experience, and the two areas you have to cross when traveling from Nashkel to the Stronghold, which definitely have a few interesting quests.
So this time, I just walked through those two areas without really playing it and concentrated mainly on the Gnoll Stronghold and that northern middle of nowhere field. Now I've just returned to do those remaining two, which goes surprisingly fast when you have a Level 6 Party :p

I always run out in places where the nasty critters respawn. The stronghold is one such place, b/c I go there when I'm a low level party, but it's easy to rack up XP against the gnolls and xvarts, so I keep shooting and roaming until I can't carry anymore and my characters are passing out from exhaustion.

My favorite fight is in Kiel's Crypt on level 2 of Durlag's Tower. Quarters are very cramped, and those little dwarven doom guards are very tough. I could just lead one warder at a time out into the connecting hall and kill them one by one but it's not as fun as taking them all on at the same time in that cramped little room. I have an easier time with the Warders than I do these guys.

I hate that Sarevok is immune to so many types of magic and fire. Why doesn't my PC have the same cool abilities? I just get six measley spells as compensation. At least in BGII you can turn into the Slayer. I never did get why Gorion doesn't kick his butt so early on. I tallied up the damage once and it seemed much greater than the amount done during the final battle.
