Anyone tried the 'kkep BG1 items' strategy?

It really works - single player too! Just load up your best items onto 1 character before you import!

I used multiplayer to create my own "gang of 6" for Baldurs Gate, and imported the whole crew into Baldurs Gate II.

The only annoyance was after killing Bohdi - some mage called Malchor Harpell turned up and pinched all of Drizzt's gear (Defender +5 etc.) which i'd got way back in the first game.

I tried it as soon as Lucian posted it . Yes it's nice to start off fully load. I've 10 rogue stones from BG1 plus all Drizzts' equipment from BG1 . There is a piece of armor that I have that don't even have a description for.

Yeah, thats the platemail +3 from Durlag's Tower (the one that doesn't require maintneance or whatever). Its magical +3, AC 0, but because there is no equivalent item you can wear a ring/cloak of protection... kick a$$!!!!

Check how some of the stats change too. My ring of wizardy doesn't double your 1st level spells anymore, it adds 1 to levels 4-7 or something. Neato.
