Jedi Consular
Jedi Consular
I want to know what you guys did for the jedi consular and wether you went light side, dark side or Neutral and your thoughts on all three.
The Consuler Help thread gives alot of that info, ut I think as consular, it is better dark because you can have all the offensive force powers and kill people with them without losingto many fp's, not that they matter as consular. With light, there are no offensive force powers so you cant just use force powers.
that is my view

Well what about Neutral thats what i did with mine and it came out wicked powerful so many force power+ there all cheap on the force points so you can have both dark side and light side. (wich i know you can have if your all the way DS or all the way LS but there more costly to use if you pick just one side of the force.)
For me personally, I have LOTS of FPoints. And so there is nothing stopping my jedi master from using the most tasking dark force powers. NO problem AT ALL. I don't see why any consular should find it hard to cast spells of opposite alignment. Also I would suggest not to go neutral, because except for the "name crystal" stats, they have no distinct advantages.

true but you do get some more instresting talks with kreia if you do go neutral. but i've found that if you go all the way DS then your Master Force heal is not worth anything you get a tiny amount of health and if your LS and get force storm it does less damage. But if you are neutral it does more Storm does more Damage and Master heal does more to heal you.
Hmm, I just checked, that's true. Sorry for mis-leading. You also get the force forms either way.
Hmm, so except for stat bonuses, I can't see so much of a problem with going neutral. I suppose that's why the have the grey jedi robe.
LS is pretty good since a Consular/Jedi master gets +6 to wisdom for more force points and an additional +3 to difficulty checks.
What are you talking about force storm doing less damage when Lightside!!! Damage depends on level plus charisma and wisdom modifiers NOT alignment.
more force points??? you must be joking.( dark side mastery should give +100fps, +50 when consular and +50 when sith lord......)
however jedi masters do get +3 to difficulty checks/saving throws over dark side, due to +6 to wisdom. however:
dark side gets force crush which is most powerful move in the game
light side gets crappy bonus force that just casts three forces you already have quickly and cheaply.as if cost means anything to a sith lord/jedi master.
there is no contest

But enlightenment does take much less time to cast. 1 round instead of 3, but it is rubbish if you are a consular and do not have very good lightsabre wielding abilities, the enlightenment gives bonuses to defense, saving throws and 2 extra attacks per round which meant you still have to fight with the sabre, which is where the consulars are weakest at, so it is a bit pointless.
What is the maximum output damage force crush can cause? if you're at level 50. 500, to one character!
Where as Force Storm, which can be learnt by light sided jedi as well, can cause 300 damage to each character it attacks, which means that it is much much more usefull and effective since 300 damage should kill anyone. Force storm basically clears a room while force crush just atacks just one guy.
So if I'm faced with a decision whether to make life easier and instead of casting force valour and force speed separately I can do it in one go (not to mention force aura) or use a force power which is quite useless in a crowded situation, I believe I shall choose the previous. So, I would say that it doesn't matter whether you choose light sided or dark, if you want to be a proper consular with a high number of force points then you can be as powerfull either way.

the choice is....a spell that adds no new powers.........(you can cast buffs before the fight, no need to take 3 rounds) or a spell that is better than force storm against single opponents. in fact better than anything. it isnt just the damage, it is the fact that it immobilises the attacker while it damages them. force storm does not do that. even if you dont use it that often, it is still another card up your sleave, compared to something that casts 3 forces at the same time that you already have and can cast at your leasure before the fight.
it is a choice between being more powerful or more lazy. personally i can be bothered to cast the buffs i want before the fight (only two of them id use anyway). it is better than casting in the fight anyway as before the fight round time does not matter.

Actually it is stated in the game that if youare a dark sider than your'e light side powers such as heal will be less efective. And if you are a light sider, the less powerfull your'e dark side powers become.Just listen to Kriea, she will tell you some where in the begening; AND somewhere in the stsart menue (xbox) I'm not sure about p.c.
