This is my 1st time plays baldur's gate and ive got a few questions
This 1st one sounds pretty stupid but i want to get mazzy to join my party, but i already disbanded her and i forgot where she told me she would go
My 2nd question is whether or not the experience cap changes in TOB because i know its 8 million in SOA but my main character (druid/fighter) already has 7.5 million exp and itd be pretty dissappointing to only gain 2 or 3 more levels.
One more thing i want to add is
I just found Yoshimo when i went to the Copper Corronet to find Mazzy and im already on chapter 7 and i heard he betrays you in Chapter 5 or 6 and dies.
Is this some sort of bug?

Easy enough.
Mazzy is a bit tricky to find after she leaves, because she doesn't got to Athkatla. She's at her family home in Trademeet. So head there, and you should be able to find her with use of your map.
Well, with a druid/fighter multiclass character you should be able to reach levels 21/24 in ToB. The experience cap is 8 million, and single class characters can reach up to level 40 (well between 31-40, depending on their class). If you really want to get more powerful than this you can download Weimer's Ease of Use Mod. It has an experience cap remover you can install. Likewise, Weimer has a Spell 50 mod that adds some higher level abilities/spells to the game. in the same vein, I'd probably install the Ascension mod if you're going to use either of those two (or even if not). It makes the last parts of ToB more interesting and challenging, by most account. It was done by Bioware developer David Gaider.
SPOILERS
And, yeah, if you're finding Yoshimo in the CC after returning from the Underdark, that's definitely a bug. I think the Baldurdash fix pack (or one of the modded fix packs) corrects that occasional bug. It, obviously, doesn't happen if you bring him with you to Spellhold.

Just to clarify what Faust told you, Mazzy's last name is Fentan, so instead of seeing the name "Mazzy's House" on the map, you'll see "Fentan home".

If you don't install the Throne of Bhaal expansion, the experience cap in Shadows of Amn is 2,950,000 points. With the expansion installed, the experience cap is 8,000,000 points, which is possible to reach even before you start the Throne of Bhaal portion of the game. I suggest that you install an experience cap remover. I recommend the "Safe" XP Cap Remover for Throne of Bhaal, which you can find at this link.

When you enter the Copper Coronet for the first time after you come back from the Underdark, and have sent Yoshimo there, he is supposed to die immediately, yet he doesn't, he dies after time passes.
Therefore to get Yoshimo back, you must pause the game right after you enter, then click to talk to Yoshimo.
I am guessing that you did this unknowgly, which is why he is not dead.

Actually thats not what happened. I walked in to the cc and didnt even notice he was there for like 5 seconds.
Anyways ive got another question
Does regeneration stack?
like if ive got the ring of gaxx equipped and the ring of regeneration do they both regenerate my hit points?

Actually, that's not what I've heard...
I've heard that similars regenerations DO stack. If you have 2 regenaration spells/items that gives you 1hp per 6 seconds, they will stack. If you have a regeneration item that gives you 1hp per 6 seconds, and one that gives you 1hp per 3 seconds, they won't stack, you'll just get the fastest regeneration effect.

That may very well be the case. It's certainly easy enough to test.

3 more quick questions
1.how do you backstab and can you use any weapon to do it?
2. I want to create a new character to solo TOB with, but i want to use some of the items i got from SOA - is there anyway to do this?
3.this is really more opinion, but what do you think the best class to solo TOB would be? i'm thinking about kensai then dualing to a thief

1) Your thief has to be invisible, behind your opponent, and using a dagger, short sword, long sword, or katana. If any other bladed weapons are proven to work, I'll let others add them.
2) Yes, beat SoA with the party you intend to carry over after you install ToB. Your party will behave as normal, including what they were carrying into the final battle.
3) That's very difficult to say. I've heard that the Blade kit (Bard) is pretty interesting to solo. A Fighter/Mage/Thief would cover areas except for healing magic. Honestly, though, I've always been a 6-party person, so I apologize that I can't help you in this area.

Dungeon Crawl Inc.: It's the most fun you can have without 3 midgets and a whip! Character stats made by your's truly!

1. Hide in Shadow, then attack (I believe you have to be BEHIND your opponent). You can only use weapons a thief can use (Short Swords, Long Swords, Daggers, Katanas, etc.). Items that needs dual-classing or UAI to use (Staff of the Magi comes to mind) won't work.
2. You can just use Shadow Keeper to edit your inventory like you want. The game will gives you items from SoA when you create a new one in ToB, but these items won't be the best selection. Just search for "Shadow Keeper" on Google, it's easy enough to use (You'll need a "named" saved game, not an auto/quick save.)
3. Kensai/Thief, Kensai/Mage, Sorceror... whatever! You could beat the game with a vanilla fighter, or worse, with a (fallen) beastmaster if you were patient enough. Anway, Kensai/Thief should be good enough, with cheesy UAI.

3. The assassin was just cheesy by the time I got into ToB. When you have a x7 backstab combined with improved Staff of the Ram, for me backstabs landed atleast 180-250 damage a hit.
i pulled this from a very old thread on this forum - but is it really possible to backstab with things such as staffs, two handed swords, halbreda, etc.?
also i tried to start a multiplayer game in TOB, but it brought me to the SOA game instead - is this becuase i need to first beat SOA?

Logically you should be able to. A backstab is puttin a weapon thru the back. And I dont see why you should't be able to do that(If you can use it, i.e.) But then again, a game has to have rules. But you CAN test this very quick.. Create a... umm, stalker (It can backstab for a lesser amount, and amount is irrelevant in this case).
*TESTED*; No... No, you can't use 2 handed weapons; "Your weapon is unsuitable for backstab" it said when i tried.

It is here! The inevatibility is here! Fear it, and it will fear you! Defy it, and it will kill you! Insanity doesn't exist!! By the way why can't I delete private messages?
Backstabb is only possible when you wield a weapon A THIEF CAN USE (without needing UAI). Since Thieves can wield Staves, you can backstabb with them.
SP101 is right- you can backstab with staves, hence the post about the big damage with the staff of the ram. Ironically, because a theif isn't supposed to be able to use it, I don't think you can backstab with the Staff of the Magi- someone correct me if I'm wrong...
The game designers must have anticipated the cheese potential (a weapon that makes you invisible that you can use to backstab ) and made the SoM unsuitable for backstabbing.
Washing your hands is important if you cook your breakfast.
Although, interestingly, you can equip the SoM and melee with it - you will stay invisible until you hit the opponent - then requip it, and stay invisible again... I was clearing out the 4th level of Watcher's Keep with that method... use the SoM to go invisible, then run to a corner away from prying eyes to go stealth, then sneak back behind a mind flayer and whack him with the staff of rhyn and immediately switch back to the SoM.
And yes, it's quite gouda-esque...

The real strength of SoM is pretty well demonstrated in imp Twisted Rune. It's Spell Trap and Invisibility abilities give you perfect cover. The former owner fooled me quite well with that.
For backstab, the high damage staves (Rhynn, Ram or Elementals with item mod) are the way to go. You'll probably have 100%+ Hide in Shadows / Move Silent at that level anyway, so Nimitieys strategy works perfect.
