if i want to reformat my machine without losing my bg2 saves, i simply have to backup everything in the 'save' folder right?

If you can you might want to write a CD with override and cache folders, that way it will be almost exactly as it was before.
I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.

and if u play multiplayer those saves are in 'mpsave' (something) dir ...
