Vampire sword? Haven't heard about that one. Anyways, I am fairly certain that you can get rid of it using "remove curse".

i was messing around with the create item code and i wanted to try the swords, and i got a vampire sword, so i decided to try it out. stupidly enough, it was cursed. the whole story thing is that the vampires cursed the sword to be stuck to you and it takes away your health while you attack. it seem like you would cause alot of damage, you only damage yourself, and i reallllly need it out of my hands cause im have to meet this guy from the government district whom im going to assassinate, but he will not meet me if he sees a weapon in my hand
Ooooooooooohhhhhh, you are .... CHEATING!
No wonder, this is simply Bioware's way of getting even with cheaters, no doubt. While sparking the eternal flame of curiosity as to what the spell is SUPPOSED to do, it'll only crash the system as its one and only purpose ... driving the cheater crazy as he thinks he holds the key to a killer-spell, but finds the lock trapped with a nuclear bomb ... MHUHAHAHA! ( + )

That's because the scroll only worked for the beta testers and as an internal joke at Interplay. They took out all the garphics for the three characters the MDK2 scroll summons before the game shipped, as well as some other things, in order to save some space on the cds for non interplay goodness (aka junk).
