How Much Do They Love You?

Post by giles337 »

A fortnight or so ago, I signed up for a new internet service provider. I was pretty pleased when the modem arrived the next day (advertised time, up to a week) and then the connection was activated the day after (advertised up to 10 days after recieving modem) And it left me thinking... hmm these gus are alright  SO imagine my surprise today, when I got a phonecall. My first thought after they introduced themselves as "Steve from Wanadoo" Was that there was a problem, but it turns out, he was just checking to make sure everything was ok with my connection! :) So all in all, I was left feeling pretty happy with the provider I've chosen.

Enough blabbering. Basically, I wan't to hear you customer relations praises.... or nightmares *glances at brynn ;) *

So shoot! :D
Mag: Don't remember much at all of last night do you?
Me: put simply.... No :D
Mag: From what I put together of your late night drunken ramblings? Vodka, 3 girls, and then we played tic-tac-toe and slapped each other around.

lol! :D

I have been with the same ISP for about 4 years, Shaw Cable. And I am very happy with their service. They rarely go down, they have an excellent customer service department, and when I have a problem the tech guys are always really great at walking me, by phone, through the various steps that lead to fixing whatever is wrong. Also, they are constantly upgrading and improving.

Previously I had Telus ADSL, and I planned to keep them as my ISP when we moved. However, trying to get set up with them proved to be a complete and utter nightmare. There was no customer support whatsoever, the guy basically just came and put a jack into our wall and left me to figure out how to configure all of the settings (this might be easy if you are a techie, but I am not). Eventually, my SO and I determined there was a real problem somewhere down the ropes and try as we might we were unable to get online. However, we could not get the company to come in and take a look at it, yet they insisted (wrongly, as it happened), that the problem was on our end.
Finally, we just had enough and we signed up with the competition. We've never looked back.

My father in law had PeoplePC dial-up and it is the worst! He was having a problem conecting so he had me look at it. There wasn't anything wrong on his end, so I called the tech support line. All I got was a recording with another number to call for tech support and a message that I would be charged $.99/minute! Great customer service PeoplePC. :o

I personally cannot stand Verizon. My first cell phone I got from them, I got two. One for me, and one for my friend. The ones you pre-pay and just get more minutes with you know? Well the lady I called when I had problems was the nastiest lady I've ever dealt with and wouldn't help me whatsoever. Cost me a lot of money trying to get my phone working again and didn't care. I talked to the manager and he didn't either. SO I boycott them now. :)

My wife and I are on a mini-vacation in Northern Virginia. I don't have much time to access the Web. Eating strange food, just saw an old Keaton silent film with accompaniment from a 1921 electric Wurlitzer, and did some shopping. Had a great, lengthy discussion today with a store owner who's a member of a hereditary Strega coven. They're Italian witches. We compared notes. :)

Darned Canadians stealin... Oh.. Yeah. I almost forgot that in two weeks our company is shutting down an ONtario call center and moving 400 jobs here. one of which I'm taking. Call center work is strange to say the least.

@fable, good to know that you are enjoying things. You should check out Jefferson Texas if you get a chance, I think you would like it. A bit further for you though.
