Once upon a time, when I was the fresh new kid Downtown, I went strutting around the sewers and accidentally ended up in a "special" mission in the Nocturne Theatre. I prowled around a bit, got the "Tangled Web" quest and was told to check my email. The message was from some guy named Mitnick who talked as though he knew me for ages and wanted me to go to Metalhead Industries. He was also kind enough to leave a key in my Santa Monica mailbox.
Later I found out who Mitnick was and what the quest was all about. Thank goodness for walkthroughs.
When I finally fought my way down the old sewers and found the Nosferatu during the "Epic... Sarcophagus" quest, there was Imalia, there was Gary, but when I entered Mitnick's place, there was no one there.
Now what?? Should I follow my quest log and go to Metalhead industries or hit my head against a wall? Cause I doubt Mitnick is about to turn up anytime soon, and the accidental theatre break-in was such a long time ago by my standards I'd be better off starting the game all over again...
I'm sorry for constantly being annoying and boring, but this time I really really need help.
You should do so well as to be sucked into the engine of some evil Sith Lord, you know.
If you had talked to Mitnick when you first visited the Nosferatu hideout, he would've given you a series of missions where you helped him set up network hubs all over LA by subverting mortal-owned systems. One of the places you had to case was the Nocturne theater (I think that's the place where the trial of your sire took place; must be to spy on Camarilla gatherings). You weren't really supposed to enter that place until Mitnick gave you the mission, but don't blame yourself: it's the designer's fault for not preventing your premature entrance.
"Even the most powerful wizards will respect cold steel once it's shoved down their throats."
So, if I understand you correctly, you're actually getting the Mitnik quests without ever having talked to him in person. Very strange.
Regardless, you don't actually have to meet with Mitnik ever again. He'll continue to communicate you by e-mail after you completed each step of given quest. Your reward comes in the final part of the quest (the experience is the real award). You don't actually need to talk with him face to face ever again. So I'd proceed with doing them.
