OpenGL 1.4.0?

Post by dajohu »

Hi,
I did a search on the forums for opengl and didn't find anything pertaining to my problem so I apologize if this has already been posted. I have played Kotor through about ten to twelve times, but just today bought a new computer with a newer video card (Geforce FX 5200 compared to my old Geforce MX 440) and installed Kotor on it. This is what it says under the video section(that's the only part that doesn't meet requirements):
Video Card Name=NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 (Microsoft Corporation)
Video Memory=128
Desktop Resolution=1024x768x32 @ 75Hz
DirectX=DirectX (9.0+) (4.09.00.0904)
OpenGL Version=1.1.0
OpenGL Vendor=Microsoft Corporation
OpenGL Renderer=GDI Generic
Vid Card Status=Pass
GL Status=Fail
DX Status=Pass

If anyone could tell me where I can download the opengl files I would appreciate it.
Thanks!

I can't answer your question (unfortunately) but I can say...

Welcome to the GB Forums dajohu! :)

Someone here will probably have an answer.

Update your driver ;) ... http://www.nvidia.com
You must find it yourself, :( but ey, it gives you something to do in your spare time. :)

EDIT: Don't reinstall and reinstall and reinstall like I did with another game when I had an openGL problem. It won't fix the problem. :D

As ik said, you just need to download a new driver. Your card meets Open Gl 1.4 requirements. You probably have just never updated the drivers which enable that feature. Nvidia's driver update site has a fairly user friendly manner of helping you select which driver is appropriate. Just follow the instructions from there and you should be set.

Thanks!

Thanks for the info, it works now. I feel like an idiot, but I just assumed that the computer store I bought my new computer from had installed the latest drivers like they implied.
Thanks again!
