Yoshimo: A Question (SPOILERS)

Post by Morcarack »

I had been putting off Spellhold for AGES (67 game days) to level up nicely (this is my first run-through) but now it looms oh so close to me, (I beat Firkman, Shangy, Thaxl & The Kangster, then did all the Qs except Bodhi to Level Up and procrastinate, but now the time has come :P ) so I better get some questions out of the way:

"When you bring Yoshimo to Spellhold, he betrays you." --> Oook, there's something I needed to know. So here are the questions:

1) When you kill Irenicus and Yoshimo jumps you, (as it said on GamBanshee) do you get the stuff you gave him back or does it "vanish"? 'Cause I got him some pretty cool stuff and I want to hang on to it.
2) If you DON'T take Yoshimo to Spellhold, can you have him join your party again after Spellhold?

~Morc.

PS: The title said, "A Question". Sadly, there are 2. :P

As far as I can remember, when Yoshimo dies, he drops all of his stuff. And I think I recall reading that if you don't take Yoshimo to Spellhold, he just up and dies when you revisit him in The Copper Coronet.

That's excellent. So I do get his stuff. I better make sure he doesn't have his Shadow Dragon armor and Daystar equipped when I get to Spellhold. (LoL, backstabbing with Daystar. Ouchies :P )

~Morc.

PS: Just dies in the Copper Coronet? How? Does he, like, fall over dead like that, or does someone kill him?

I can give you a plot spoiler if you want, but suffice to say, he dies inevitably.

And while I'm almost certain you get Yoshimo's gear, I suggest saving at random times while in Spellhold just in case I'm wrong. That way, you can reload just before he turns on you, unequip him, and have at it.

You do get his stuff. Unless you disentigrate or petrify him i.e. However as I recall, Yoshimo has a pretty bad AI when he betrays you (i.e. he wont backstab - use potions etc.) But if you haven't, why don't you just dual him to fighter right before you enter the Asylum? :)
It is here! The inevatibility is here! Fear it, and it will fear you! Defy it, and it will kill you! Insanity doesn't exist!! By the way why can't I delete private messages?

He is supposed to die straight away, but I heard a trick to get him back, though I've never tried it. What I heard is that if you leave him at the Copper Coronet, you can get him back. What you do is immediately after entering the Copper Coronet, pause, do it so fast that no triggers could be set off. Then choose the option to talk to Yoshimo and it displays the kicked out message. I cannot say I am 100% sure, but I heard this works. Never tried it myself, it is rather risky as you would miss out on ... 200,000XP from returning his heart, but other people might say whether it worked.

Good luck whatever you do.

What an idiot. He poisons your party at the Asylum, and then when he jumps you, he just jumps you? Pshht. Minsc'll fry him mono-e-mono.

Meh, whatever. I'm thinking about this "Yoshimo's Heart" quest on GameBanshee which gives 200K exp. I'm already looking at it greedily.

The Asylum will be fun. If its teaming with Mind Flayers and Ulitharids, while they may be bastards, (The Hammer Of Thunderbolts for me was a nightmare; there were so many Raise Deads cast on Minsc I can't even remember how many times he died) they give excellent XP and I may jump a few levels, hopefully. (I want to get at least 3 Million XP for my main, currently half way there)

You should edit the title of your thread so that it:

1) contains the word SPOILER, and
2) removes the spoiler itself from the title.

Not everyone desires to know beforehand what will happen in the game. Please see Buck's sticky in this matter. Have a great game! :)

Title changed. Morcarack, please read the "About Spoilers: Please Read Before Posting" thread. As we're still getting new players, I've changed your thread title to hide info. You'll be expected to do it from here on. ;)

We can get Yoshimo back?! That's great! I know he's a heartless son of a gun that betrays you, but if you're chaotic evil you can understand that and just make him obey you later out of fear. *Whicked Grin :D * Thanks for the link, Astafas!

Really? I can't even use him as a substitute for Immy in normal games, since he's just... annoying me.

And yes, he annoyed me in my very first runthrough when I didn't know what would happen.

If using the patch, he won't betray you, so no need to be chaotic evil.
