Cheesy Wild Surges?

Post by Xyx »

Does anyone know what "Wild Surge - Area Effect" does to...
  • Find Familiar
  • Sequencers and contingencies
  • Clone spells
  • Lightning Bolt
  • Limited Wish
  • Summons
  • Farsight
  • Time Stop
  • Nahal's Reckless Dweomer
Any other peculiar (not simply powerful) Surges possible?

I only know that Everybody gets a timestop, like A gets while B&C are stopped, than B gets it whils A&C are stopped, etc.. This includes enemies (dragon got it from it once :-().

I don't know about these, it's just speculation:

Everyone gets a familiar!

Everyone gets a sequencer/contingency

Everyone in the area gets a lightning bolt launched at them

Everyone gets a wish

You get a number of summons equal to the amount of people in the area. (no people= 1 fire elemental, 6 people = 6 elementals)

Farsight? No idea

Rogue is right on timestop

Nahals: The spell you were trying to duplicate becomes an area of effect.

I'm not totally sure on any of these but they make sense to me considering what i know about other spells in this surge.

In the Wild Surge area of WK, I (obviously) got a wild surge while casting a timestop, and the target changed from Edwin to Sarevok. Man, Greater Whirlwind + Vorpal Sword + Timestop + Sarevok = Armageddon. Every enemy in the room was utterly obliterated. I've never seen so many chunks flying around in my life!

I just got Area Effect while casting Limited Wish, and great was my suprise when not one but six (6!) Dao's appeared. I then got a wish from each of them :p

Ps. I have 4 in my party - evil me (wild mage), Korgan, Viconia and Yoshimo.

Right! That's the stuff I like to hear. :)

So, you have 4 characters, but get 6 wishes? Wild Mage must be interesting when you go solo. ;)

Were you able to choose the same one-time wish twice or more?

No, I talked to them one at a time, and apparently available wishes are determined at talk-time, not summon-time. Thus it worked as if I had just cast LWish six times in a row.
