An issue of annoyance

Post by CM »

Could you guys not quote 50 lines and then just write a one line sentence? I mean come on that is just stupid. We know the subject of the thread. No need quote 20 lines and say well duh or i don't care. Or you suck or whatever.

In spam threads if it is longer than 5 lines just say @ whoever. We read it we know whats going on. So don't bloody quote it.

No spam threads its fine as people break up the quotes into smaller ones for dicussion.

If its a spam thread and more than 5 lines don't bloody quote the text. THINK for gods sake.

It's "Aramant", but I won't hold it against you. It's a character name.

P.S.: Woot! I am the example of all that is Right and Good!

P.P.S.: Actually, before I saw the reference to my post, I was considering quoting your entire entry and adding just "Okay" at the end.

Maybe those who do that don't know how to use the "quote" tags... You can't expect users who don't even know how to send a PM be familar with HTML code ;) But I agree with you, it's really annoying, just as quoting pictures  (I noticed that on another forum, it's really crazy).

So, here's a quick course for those who don't know what Cimmy's talking about:

When you quote a post, it appears between [ quote ] and [ /quote ] tags as part of the message you are to compose (w/o space, of course).

If you want to reply to a fraction of the message, simply delete the rest from between the tags, that's all. If you would like to devide it into smaller parts and reply one by one, put the part you want to reply to between similar tags, write your reply, and do the same to the next part... That easy :)

Well, long quotes may be used too, as long as they are not used all the time. Fable use a good sistem, bolding the phrase he is quoting after a first quote.
