to alter appearence in SK also alters speed? something else?

Post by Thrifalas »

I'm thinking of playing through the game, but as evil as possible. One thing I'd like to have is altered avatars, such as Shadow Thieves, Drows, Rakshasas and maybe a Lich.

The problem is, when changing in Shadowkeeper, this also alters my speed. Rakshasas and Drows seem to be normal, but Shadow Thieves run fast as the wind while the Lich barely can move at all.

I can live with just using the Drow and Rakshasa-avatars, but is there something else that shadowkeeper changes apart from speed and avatars? I don't want to have 50% magical res on my drow and so on :/

And, while I'm on it, anyone have more ideas of what one can possible play? I mean, keep it so it can walk thru doors without problems... ie no dragons. :)

I'm thinking Drow, Rakshasa, Shadow Thief, Lich, Maybe some Elemental (they could have a personality!), Mind Flayers... hmm... Vampires ofc... More?

This can be ridiculous fun if it goes as planned... I'm going for Chaotic/Neutral Evil on almost everyone... Never played a lot evilier (?) than true neutral/lawful evil. :)

After having some fun checking what alters speed and not, I think i'll be going for a Wind Elemental (thief) as main char, a Drow Female (cleric) and a Raksasha (wild mage).

The Wind Elemental do have a bit bigger... circle? (have to be big air elemental, otherwise he's slow) than the others though. I'm thinking it will be though to get through doors in that condition, and it's indeed very annoying to having to chance appearence whenever you wish to move through a doorway.

Is there any way to... reduce the size of the circle? I know at least a couple of persons in here must have just loved to play a dragon a couple of times... :)

Walking speed, and foot circle size, are hardcoded into the game's animation slots.

I played with a fat woman avatar for some time, but that one had, of course, no fighting and spellcasting animations.
How about an animal? A mountainlion or winterwolf looks nice. If you give them ranged weapons it looks like they're spitting at the enemy. There are some snake avatars as well.

Yep, I love the Drow (female) and Rakshasa avatars. They have normal speed and circles as well. Same goes for Burning Man. Shadow Thief and Vampures are ok, though they run faster than normal and can be considered "cheating" and isn't suitable for teamplaying.
