Melee Sabers?

Post by Revanstein »

First off I have to start this tread by saying... KOTOR deserves every award it has won! Too bad it took so long for such a concept to come out, and I hope it doesn't die with KOTOR II.

Now, onto the main point of this thread...

As you may recall when starting the game and as you progress you determine what feats and skills etc that you progress in. This makes picking ranged or melee preferences important early on so as not to waste skills and feats.

Technically there are 3 main weapon types (not including things like mines, grenades etc): Melee, Ranged, and Lightsaber (which is really melee but is cleary seperated from the melee class in game break down).

The game seems to have a small contradiction that I have wondered about for some time.

Question:
Do Melee feats / skills etc impact the use of the lighsaber?

If not, then feats are best poured into things like vitality, toughness, etc, if so.. the "Guardian" would be advised to perfect his melee skills.

If you mean things like flurry and two weapon fighting then the answer is yes, they work for both melee and sabres if you want to deem them two seperate entities, though for the most part anything in game that applies to melee means both sword and sabre. (Except of course weapon proficiencies.)

Actually I suppose that is exactly what I meant... Weapon Profficiency Melee.. does not apply to sabres?
