Questions about bows...

Post by Cheats Are The Essence »

Does bows are consider two handed weapons ?
and does putting one slot on two handed weapon style, affects the speed factor of bows ?

Weapon styles only affect melee weapons.

Indeed, but one can not equip anything to the secondary slot while using a bow. (which is what i meant ;) )

I assume they are just different style of weapons, you remember in BG1 when every blunt weapon could be categorised under 1 proficency, that included Quater Staffs right through to War Hammers. The difference between them seems to be relative to a thief, as they can not use longbows. Same with crossbows heavy and light.

True evil is the tulgan bow with quiver of plenty from watchers keep. in SOA, not patched with TOB, I have seen mazzy take out an enourous number of people out with the rapid fire tulgan bow. If you have mazzy in your party make a point to hit at the very least the top levvel of watchers keep.

Another very nasty trick is to equipp firetooth+4 with bolts of biting, or the gesen bow with arrows of fire, or acid awwors. True, for the gesen bow remove your ammo to hit high defnse creatures, like the demi lich which requires the weapon to be +4 or better, but for the normat run of the mill crowd, the fier damage and poison damage from the firetooth with bolts of biting do add up.

I'll second that UserFriendly! :D

Ever tried the upgraded Firetooth equiped with the bolts of dispelling, or what about the bolts of detonation for your spellcaster troubles?!?
It this a bug? I don't think it is.

A clarification is in place. You need to spend profiency points in the weapon you want to use. If you want to use a short bow you should put as many points a possible in Short Bows. Then there is a possibility to spend points in different weapon styles: Two Handed Weapon Style, Two Weapons Style and Single Weapon Style. These three weapon styles only affect melee weapons. Therefor, two points in Two Handed Weapon Style will not give you any advantage when using a bow of any kind.
