Favorite Bug

Post by B0r4n »

Which are you guys favorite bugs? :P

I didn't finish the whole game yet but I think my favorite bug at the moment is the one with the quest "The Hitman Impasse", the quest with the 2 old guys in chinatown who want to kill each other. Normally you can get 4 exp for killing one of them, OR 6 exp for making them reconcile.

Or you can kill one guy, get 4 exp, let the other guy reconcile witht the dead guy, get 6 exp :)

10 exp for doing absolutly NOTHING :P
Gotta love that ;)

Speaking of that one you can get 6 exp for getting them back together while talking to the guy in the Red Dragon only. It will complete the quest and everything and you never even started it yet hehe.

One of the bugs I liked playing though as Tremere, meeting Samantha, old time friend who kept refering to me as "I know your him!" and my responses "I'm NOT him OK?" what was so funny was I was playing though as a female Tremere.

Yeh I had that too with my female Brujah :p
Had a good laugh too the first few times she called me "him", but after a while I felt like smacking her head to pulp ;)

Yeah, there are a number of text errors in the game. They needed to spend a bit more time reviewing dialogue for spellings and things like this. Though, this was the only real incident of gender inconsistency I can remember, which is at least a good thing.

Yeah I even found a few spelling errors. Not that I'm a pro myself but I found the word "Your" spelled "Yout" a few times.

Not that this is a fav bug of mine by the whole "WAIT!" call from beckett and you wait and wait and wait... and he never shows. Mean guy to leave you standing there like that.

I remember one time they used 'there' in stead of 'their'.
It's not a big error but seriously, are the text-writers french or what's up? :P

Hmm. With a name like "Troika", I always assumed it was a Russian dev house and dismissed the textual errors on that basis, but the last I checked, Irvine, CA isn't anywhere near the Urals.

Given Troika's troubled economic status (now gone under), I am sort of the opinion that they rushed the game out before fixing lots of little things like grammatical errors in the hopes that game sales might keep them afloat a little while longer.

It is not a developer who decides when the game will be released, it is a publisher. And often publisher rushes the game - to get money as soon as possible. If game developers would have all the time they want, we could probably not to see the game at all.

Perhaps Activision was responsible for rushing the game out. The point is that it got to shelves before all the bugs were fixed, most likely due to money. Maybe Activision had invested a bunch in the game and wanted some sort of return before Troika went under and left Activision with nothing. I don't mean to make it sound like I'm bad-mouthing Troika - I love this game. It's just unfortunate that al of the issues weren't dealt with prior to release.

I guess me "fav" bug is the also the most classical bug. Find a book, sell it to a merchant, than buy it back from him twice and raise your stats double.
