How come no one ever mentions the ebony scimitar you can get from the Mournhold Ordinators? It looks cool and can hold more echantments than any other weopon I've seen (almost more than 4 times the highest daedric! I.e. 80) !
Has anyone made a constant effect item that does damage to themselves constantly in a big radius so as to hurt those nearby? Put a few of those together and its kind've fun although you'll need a source of regeneration if you want to stay alive, but that isn't hard to make either. If you have immunity to the damage type it won't work, eg Nord and cold damage.
Actually I really enjoyed the Tribunal expansion. If you train a descent Mercantile (~40, which is pretty cheap to do) it is a great place to sell equipment (some merchants carry 10, 000 gold). You can also get a full set of ebony armour 2 seconds into the city legally. Once you enter the Temple area look for a wood elf and talk to him, he will ask for money, just give him what he wants, until he asks for a million gold, tell him yes again and he will get mad and threaten you. Leave the temple area, rest and return and the elf will be in full ebony looking for revenge. He is a tough fight, but the rewards are good and you can always duck into the temple for healing and a break. The elf also has a nice constant effect amulet.
For newbies my only advice to this game for starting is find Creeper (Caladon) rest beside him, sell and get rich. Take your money back to Balamora and train, train, train (all the guilds are there and they cover almost every skill). Learn how skills affect attributes and get the full 15 attribute points per level. The dark brotherhood attacks provided me with all my start up capital, I just repaired what they dropped and sold it to Creeper.
I have to agree with an earlier post. Race and class make no difference in the long run. By level 30 most of your attributes will be 100, if you've levelled optimally. Choose a race for its resistances, or aesthetic appearance. Atorach (sp?) is definetely the best sign as magika is ridiculously stunted otherwise.
Regeneration makes for cheesy training. I made a ring that regenerated a measly 2 HP constantly and a helm that regenerated 6 Fatigue constantly. I found a tomb near Seyda Neen and killed everything except for a skeleton and an Ancestor ghost. The tomb had nice square flat wall so I equipped a shield, toggled run ON and put my back to the wall and taped down the walk backwards key (used a fork on the spacebar with a book on top of it : ). Meanwhile the ghost and skeleton tried to put the beat down. When I got back 5 hours later, my unarmoured and medium amour where maxed, plus I got a few points in block and athletics. The skeleton had broken his weopon and was attempting to use his fists.
