KoTOR ending? spoiler

Post by stormcloud »

I got the heros ending where you stand on the Rakatan temple and Vandar gives a nice speech about heroes of the republic...

what does one do to get the ending where Revan goes off into deep space to find the Sith?

Be Evil (tm).

Nothing. That is not a ending in KotoR. You learn about that in KotoR II. If you play as a DS character you get ending with you crushing Republic fleet and afterwards you see yourself standing on a balcony watching your army march by. (At least I think it's that - it's been over a year since I finished KotoR)

Ripe, I think the ending you describe is actually what he meant.

Is it possible to get the evil ending even though you didn't join up with Bastila in the temple?

... I think that you still can, you should onlr recieve a bit of light side points, if not it might take you to netrual light for "killing her".

As far as I can tell, joining up with Bastila in the temple is your last chance to be bad. If you resist Bastila's attempts to turn you to the dark side, and she goes flying off in her own ship, you've basically passed the test--you've resisted the dark side once and for all. I don't know about other situations, but if you're female and have the Carth romance, it basically tells you that the encounter with Bastila in the temple is the turning point, where you make the final decision to follow the light or the dark path. Once you get to the Star Forge, you don't have many decisions to make. I just tried it, and I was as mean as I could be on the Star Forge--I even killed Bastila--but I just gained a few DS points, was still well into the light side by the end, and got the light side ending. The only way I can imagine it is if you were on the dark side at the end even though you resisted Bastila's temptations to the dark side, and even then you may get the light side ending.

Come to think of it, I bet you have to join up with Bastila to get the DS ending, since she's in the DS ending sequence.
Anyway, yeah, if you don't join up with her in the temple, when you find her in the Star Forge, you can either kill her or turn her to the LS, both of which have the effect of allowing the Republic ships to break through and attack the Star Forge... so you wouldn't get the DS ending.

Bastila bows to you on the balcony...

"All Hail Lord Revan....All Hail Lord Revan....All Hail Lord Revan..." said Sith soldiers

Mine, mine, mine that was the best moment ever!!! (MUCH better than the lightside ending, in my opinion :D )

Definitely It was brilliant compared to the LS one which was just poor.

I tried threatening to kill Bastila as a dark player to avoid choosing and I wanted to see what would happen.

I got the net light side shift into a neutral player. Then, for threatening Bastila, I got dark side points, shifting my alignment slightly dark.

The game then forced me to play through the light ending. So you can apparently threaten her with violence and be a good guy at the same time. Who would have thought?

There are 3 endings, and your Light/Dark scale does nothing to influence it.

LIGHT SIDE ENDING - let bastila escape from the unknown planet, then don't kill her on the Star Forge.

NEUTRAL ENDING - let bastila escape from the unknown planet, then kill her on the Star Forge.

DARK SIDE ENDING - join up with bastila on the unknown planet.

also note that the neutral ending is very simelar to the light side ending

Hope that helps :)
