It's been a long time since there was news about this game. Does anyone know how's it going with Dragon Age?

Well i keep taking a look at the Bioware site once a week or so, but no news.
I think that in a month or so when the JadeEmpire hype is over there will be more DragonAge news.

Has it been covered yet whether Dragon Age is going to be on PC or will it be Xbox? I know that Bioware said something about focusing on Xbox starting with the release of Jade Empire.

Hope it's going to be on PC. *crosses fingers* :p

Sorry, wasn't sure if that was still current.
Don't remember exactly when Bioware said they were shifting to Xbox game production, but I think it was after that update (from Jan.).

The NW Vault page didn't work. Page not found. :(

All the other links on the first page worked fine for me.

Is anyone else as excited for this game as me? I'm a diehard Bioware fan and am dying with the lack of information available. I agree with Rav above, as I loved their xbox games, but nothing beats a good ol' 60 hr computer rpg.

I learned my lessons with Neverwinter Nights - I don't hype about games anymore, but now I expect them to be ordinary hack n' slash diablostyle CRPG-lites requiering the IQ of wet blankets to complete :D - and then I can be pleasently surprised if there is actually for once substance in a modern day (so-called) roleplaying game.

So before I try a demo or the game itself - I'll not hype about anything.

Be honest Xandax, you are a little more then curious about DragonAge then normal.

But you have a healthy point of vieuw. I have that with games in general (or try to). Black & White tought me that lesson.

I'm curious about all CRPGs which come out to the PC, and eventually - I'll game through most, or at least try most (yes - I buy to many games) :D
But hype or excitment is something I am not buying for CRPGs anymore, after the disaster which was Neverwinter Nights (sure it was a decent game, but it wasn't the roleplaying game that was hyped or promised during development)
I dont know where to got the information, or if its accurate, but my local gamestore has 2005 as a release date (year) for DragonAge.
Looks like no. In order to make year's end and participate in Holiday sales, they would have needed to be shipping boxes in Oct. To the best of my knowledge, they still don't have a publisher.

Which brings me to some unsolicited marketing advice for Bioware. Publish on the cheap and self-publish with the help of a 3rd party contractor. I believe the additional incremental sales for boxes with flaps that open, 250 page glossy manuals, and custom 3-CD jewel cases to be marginal. Save these costs. Save the shipping costs of large, heavy packages. Include manuals, maps, etc. in pdf format on the DVD, and stick a single DVD in a small cube shaped, monochrome box with minimal artwork. Cube boxes will stand out in any ‘library style’ display, and besides, you’ll be investing some of the money you saved in capturing end caps and stand alones at the big electronics and media retailers. You’ll be able to bring it out quicker, cheaper, and keep more of the margins. You can always release a ‘collector’s edition’ with all the bells and whistles after it goes gold.

We all know that any release dates are subject to change at any time by the creators of said game. So, until we are fairly close to the distribution date, I would not trust any dates they put up.

To make it short, this game impresses me as it is being made by Bioware and (yay!) will be for PC gamers, unlike many other games and conquests they are making. Looks like another game that I will be suscribing for news... :D

I just hope that they do not release it befoire it is finished... that would be a pain if it turned out buggy, like so many other games lately.

I edited the first post.
Nothing new, just removing some dead-links.

No "real" news about DragonAge for a year now....
Not even something to show us at E3.
Rather dissapointing, i was hoping that would be the place where Bioware would release a flood of info/screens/movies about DragonAge all at once.

All we can do is wait.

Yeah. Its a pity. I also wanted to know more about this Dragon Age ever since I've seen it at the Bioware website. By the way, I know its too early to tell how this game will turn out to be but from the handful of screenshots that are available, the game plays a tad bit like Neverwinter Nights.

You are right...you cannot say anythign from the 3 screenshots we have seen. Certainly nothing about gameplay. And I wouldnt even be suprised if the screenshots look absolutely nothing like the final product.

Yeah, I agree. I was referring about how the camera angle in Dragon Age kind of reminded me of the Neverwinter Nights type camera angle. Anyway, I hated that kind of camera angle. Much preferred the 3rd person camera angle in Fable and the KOTOR series. :p

Added a link to the 1up preview from last week.

Part of the things posted there (and there is a scren shot :D :D )

- The story is dark-much darker than the usual BioWare fare-and influenced by "realistic" modern fantasy like George R. R. Martin's A Game of Thrones.
- The game uses an evolved "tactical real-time combat" style of Baldur's Gate, only in 3D-you queue up orders for multiple party members, pause the game when you need to think, and your party members will be able to execute coordinated attacks.
- Large-scale creature combat will have your characters doing stuff like ducking between legs and jumping on backs of monsters (dare we say dragons?).
- Even though Dragon Age isn't a D&D game, per se, BioWare is sticking close to those roots with the class and rules systems.
- The game uses a "modified" version of the Mass Effect conversation system we're all so keen on.
- Depending on the type of character you choose, the game offers multiple different "origin stories"-meaning the first few hours of the game will be totally different depending on which character archetype you choose.

And finally some bad news: PLanned to release for late 2007/early 2008
