Somebody put this tip up somewhere else, but as soon as he transforms into the demi-lich skull thing, transform yourself into the slayer. That gives him a surprise. Don't forget to transform back to a human as soon as you can though. It's only 2 rep points, which is just a couple of thousand coins at the temple, and well worth it.

My level 19 fighter took kangaxx out by himself last night. He was showing off a bit, I think, primarily to impress Vinconia, who was kind of non-plussed.

I've done it now and i found the lich form harder! I had protection from magic on my pc so none of his spells were working on me and went upo and slashed him away with carsomyr. But as a litch carsomyr wouldn't hit him! I think he had some sort of protection but i managed to get a hit in and it dispelled it then he was easy!

The way I took out Kangaxx with my party of level 13 barbarian.
1) Barabrian was wielding Usuno blade+4, Jaheira Staff of Rynn+4.
2) Bought 3 scrolls of prot. from undead.
3) Yoshimo placed 7 traps where the lich form will spawn.
4) Give the parts. lich form is killed by traps, he gives his speach, transforms.
5) Jaheira hits him with ring of ram to move him away from the center. He casts demi-lich howl, but everybody is out of range. Run up the stairs.
6) Cast prot. from undead on Me, Jaheira and Viconia. Yoshimo hides in shadows, Edwin improve invises and Nalia casts shadowdoor. Improved haste on main char, CUHM, Rage
7) go down, me and jaheira kick his golden butt, the rest of the party he never notices.

I was doing 3 hp per damage, jaheira - 2hp, but he went down really fast.

Esy way,

played sorc in magic cleric heavy party, uses super cheese for everyhting.

ya need 2 rings of ram, pickpocket the cowled mage in gov district and do planer quest
yoshimo,
many delayed action fireballs and several project images.

trap the area where lich first appears. use the dual class button to cast about 14 traps.

go to yoshimos info screen, click on the dual class button, cancel. his traps are now refreshed!

Now for the evil part. see the little platform in line with the path leading to his coffin?

Trap the little platform with about 20 or so delayed action fireballs via sorc or mage with project image, then cast delay action fireballs. have a warrior or cleric use vilators helm, equipped with 2 rings of ram. click on coffin, don't bother with any protections. first form dies instantly. from excessive traps. hit it with ring of ram, which will throw him tword the delayed action fireballs. they should kill him, but if not immediately dead, hit with 3 more ring of ram.
They call me Darth...

Darth Gizka!

Muwahahahahhahahha!!!

No, it's possible to kill Kangaxx with just normal stuff. I used a deflect magic on a player, which absorbed 2 imprisons; also conjured stuff like crazy, and hit with the flame tongue while I had the Gesen bow and the sling of everard backing me up. I still ended up using 2 freedom scrolls, since people wound up getting targeted.

It was a good feeling; using the scroll of magic protection was cheesey and simple.

It's real easy to beat the demi lich once you figure out how. Just have a mage cast spell imunity : abjuration, and make that mage stand RIGHT next to the lich. And then bring a fighter wielding a +4 or better weapon (crom, carso or even staff of magi) and whack away. Just make sure your fighter isn't closer to the lich than your protected mage is.

That's an unfair battle, Imprisonment is an unfair and cheesy spell..you battle cheese with more cheese. :p

Is it powerful? Certainly!

Does it give the Demi-Lich any chance whatsoever? No! (unless you're lame enough not to do enough damage to him)

Could you do it if the Demi-Lich was controlled by another player instead of a 20-line script? Probably. The thing just doesn't have any options other than Trap the Soul (the ranged Imprisonment), Demi-Lich Howl (Wail of the Banshee), a feeble physical attack, and some moving around.

Does this make it cheese? If so, Greater Whirlwind, traps and backstabbing are also Cheese.

well, if you really want to avoid as much cheasy tacktics as possible, use a single berserking berserker to kill kangaxx.

Awwww!!! I got way too impatient with Kangaxx so after I took out the lich the conventional way, (no creative tactics or fun, just sat there, made my saves and waited for his protections to wear off. ) I had everyone run away and transformed into the Slayer. Slayer demolished the demi-lich without a scratch, although I'm not sure why the trap the soul didn't work, I thought Slayer only had 40% MR. What's the consensus? Is Slayer considered cheese?

Why would it? Are you supposed to give your opponents a fair chance? ;)
