Chpt 6 love interest help *spoiler*

Post by Xrist »

Well, I have a problem...

Seems Aerie has been changed into a Vampire...I killed her, and collected the book, heart and body to take to the temple ruins...no problem yet....except when I try and go into the temple ruins.

Baldur's Gate 2 and my system do NOT get along well, certain area's do NOT want to load for me and only end up crashing to the desktop when I try and goto them. I have had to "skip" certain parts of the game due to this (Amonen is not a knight because the paladin hall crashed, I never went to Ust Nathir cause that area crashed) I have not been very successful in fixing my problem, other then a full install drastically reducing the number of crashes, and none of biowares suggestions have helped either. I have learned to live with it for now until I can come up with a permanent fix for the crashes.

However, since Aerie is now dead and needs to be revived, I can not get to the area to revive her...but I don't want to lose her since I was in a romance with her, as well as she is one of the last clerics I have access to (Amonen left after I sent him to the Paladin's alone...Viconia left when my rep went too high)...plus I actually think she is a good NPC.

My question is...is there anyway that I can revive Aerie using Shadowkeeper and "skipping" the temple ruins?, I noticed a new variable called "aerievampire" which was set to "1" before I killed her in Bodhi's lair, and is set to "3" now that I have left the graveyard area. Would that variable or any others help me revive her some how?

You can try Clua'ing her in using the spawn creature command line. Or, if you might try looking at your settings for the game in the config. If their too high, try lowering them, and that might help.

@Xrist - if you are talking variables and clua console - Sabre is a resident expert and hero. He also has a happy patch (among others!) that stops 'evil' NPCs leaving if your rep goes too high...

On a more simple note, regarding the crashes, did you try clearing out your cache/data file? :)

Actually I am running a patch that allows me to have multiple romances at once, as well as I think it stops them from leaving due to rep...but I rescued Viconia rather late and had a high rep when I did so...she pretty much joined and left before I had a chance to start a romance with her.

No big deal, I still had Jaheira and Aerie...but now Aerie is MIA as well and I have completed her romance.

UPDATE:
I was able to find a work around and "create" a new Aerie. I spawned her in using CreateCreature("Aerie"), and CTRL-Q'd her into my party, but she appeared as a Death Knight with no spells and only level 10 (think standard from when you pick her up in the Circus tent), so I went into ShadowKeeper and loaded up an earlier save game, copied over her stats, exp, levels, added all her variables (Lovetalk, etc), changed the paperdoll, skin colours, proficiencies, added her cleric spells to her spellbook, and selected the number of spells she can memorize each level. All in all it was a fair amount of work, but I did have my Aerie back. Only problem is, she has some wierd proficiencies (missle weapons, and other strange ones...are these possibly from BG1?), not to mention this work around didn't really fix my initial problem or advance the plot any.
