The Circle of Eight has updated to 3.0.4, and Livonya, another avid modder, has released 1.5.1 and works on 2.0. You should link to those. Note that you must have Atari's second patch installed, not the first nor third. If you are installing Co8 and Livonya, as I believe you should, install the second Atari patch, Co8, then Liv.

Just to clarify, these mods are coded for patch 2, not patch 3. So do NOT apply patch 3 if you want to use these. However, applying patch 1 will not interfere. You just have to have patch 2 (which includes patch 1, if you don't have it already, and which installs just fine OVER patch 1, if you do).
That is, if you have no patches, apply patch 2, then these mods.
If you have patch 1 only, apply patch 2, then these mods.
If you have only patch 2, just apply these mods.
If you have both 1 and 2, apply these mods.
If you have any combination that includes patch 3, do NOT apply these mods without getting rid of patch 3 first. I recommend a complete uninstall/reinstall then application of patch 2, followed by these mods.
Also note that co8 and Livonya have taken liberty to CHANGE the content of the game as they see fit. Livonya especially has made ToEE a very different experience. If you want to play ToEE (the first time through?) as the designers tried to make it, apply patch 2, and then temple.zip by Moebius. This is my own preferred setup.

A bit more specific?
I think an FAQ thread is great. I don't know if other readers feel this way but I have held off from making suggestions/submittals because I am new to ToEE and not sure what would consistute an FAQ for it. For Icewind Dale I might, maybe even Baldur's Gate 2. Also are you looking more for technical FAQs like patches, known bugs, etc. OR are looking for FAQs about game play/strategy? Or Both kinds? Basically though I feel too green in regards to ToEE to submit what I think should be an FAQ.

...as several questions were asked many times I just put those together in one thread...
...it's just a more or less a general FAQ based on these questions - and has therefore a focus on gameplay & strategy...
...there is another sticky thread concerning patches so everything concerning this issue is better posted there...
...if there is a need for a technical FAQ feel free to create a new one or just ask galuf...
...if you have any information for the general FAQ just post it here!
then I will put it where it fit best!

Seeing as technical problems are big thing with this game, I couldn't see much of a problem with that. However, I am not a technical expert, so constructing such would be a little tough, especially if people look at me for advice.

Looting
I think this may be a stupid question, but here goes. After a battle, when the bodies are still lying on the ground, I can't seem to figure out how to loot them. The only way I seem to be able to get their items is to come back later when the bodies are gone and the loot is sitting on the ground on it's own. Any help???

This is the infamous looting bug. It's due to a conflict between the game and directx 9.0c, which was included in windows service pack 2. The problem has a couple of easy fixes, though. My preferred method is to do this:
Download and apply Atari's patch 2, then download and apply Moebius' temple.zip fix.
The other method is to simply download and install Atari patches 2 and 3.
You can get the atari patches from here:
http://www.atarisupport.com
Get temple.zip here:
http://www.jadri.com/temple.zip
To install this, install patch 2 first, then copy the file "temple.dll" from the .zip to the game's main directory (thus replacing the one there), and then transfer everything from the .zip's "data" folder to the game's "data" folder (thus adding to it). And that's it! Fixes the looting problem and much more, while remaining compatible with all the fan mods (which is why it's better than atari patch 3).
