What is your pet peeve? Rant away (Spam Lite)

Post by winter rose »

Share your pet peeve/peeves and tell me how you got over them. If you did get over them that is. I have so many, my family thinks Im crazy. Here I'll start by sharing a few, so far I have yet to find a way to overcome them.

1) People crunching/munching next to me (it literally drives me up the wall)
2) People who talk during a movie
3) People who constantly whack my shoulder in order to show me something
4) The curtains being moved away and the sunlight being let in when I wish to sleep in
5) People who talk but will not listen
6) Women who constantly look at themselves in their compact mirrors

I'll stop here. Looks like I need to stay away from people. :p

Actually, I would have to agree with just about all of your's and then add a few. ;)
One of the most annoying things to me is when someone drags their metal fork or spoon on their teeth when they eat. The finger nails on a chalkboard I can take, but the metal fork thing I hate! In fact, I purposely made my roommate eat of off plastic forks when he was living with me because he couldn't seem to stop!!
That and someone talking with their mouth full or "smacking" (as we call it). That's when they chew rather loudly, it's different from crunching because it makes loud smacking noises rather than crunching noises.
I know, I probably sound almost impossible to eat around. :)
Mitch:You know, um, something strange happened to me this morning... Chris Knight: Was it a dream where you see yourself standing in sort of sun-god robes on a pyramid with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at you?Mitch: No... Chris Knight:Why am I the only one who has that dream?

Those i agree with. I add:

3) People who just say stuff because it sounds nice.
6) Everything they own has the designer label in huge letters. Subte usage is nicer
7) Women who aren't perverted :p :D

Wow I agree with all the above - minus CM's number 7.

Thomas77 -- Yup I know what you mean. I actually dont mind the finger nails on the board. However, I do have far too many issues as far as people eating around me. It just annoys me too much, and a lot of people are lousy eaters.

Locke -- yeah I noticed. I always tell him hes perverted enough for the two of us, but does he listen to me, of course not. :p

CM -- Pagal :p

7)Oh yeah and being told to stay in bed when I am ill.
8) People who stare
9) Guys who purposely squeeze past when there is a ton of room for them to walk by without touching

Not everything man....everything includes quite a bit. I won't get into the details though.

I can't stand lies, at all.

People who are fake, trying to be who you aren't to impress someone else just really gets to me.

People who can't accept others for who they really are does the same too.

Girls who refuse to communicate. That one is my worst one I think.

Mag: Don't remember much at all of last night do you?
Me: put simply.... No :D

yeah, in a housephone you can understand that if the answerer doesn't introduce him/herself

but IE when i call my sister/mother they're all silent when i say hiya and they're like "who's calling" despite the fact they know it's me since it reads on the display.

delivery guys who call 11:45am(just as you've left your home from lunch and say:"hello i'm behind your door with your package, would you open your door please" and i'm "no, because i'm not at home STUPID!" and they are suppose to call in advance to schedule a delivery time not call when they're behind my door.. stupids GRR

I screwed with military branches when they kept calling my house trying to recruit me. Boy, were THEY fun. Idiots abounds in the army. Air force only took 2 calls to stop, navy 7, Marines 4, but the army, well, we got into double digets with them.

wait a minute you actually were tried to get recruited that much??? in finland military service is mandatory(you can choose civil service which is usually regarded as a cowards way)(or go to jail) those are the options in here..

if you don't show up, the mp's come over to get you from your house.. i believe the record of running the mp/police is about 4days.

is it like they want you to go to the boot camp and then the inappropriate one's are discarded or??

It's only mandatory here when they enable a draft. They kept calling to convince me to join. What I kept telling them is that they were wasting their time and they would need to rewrite the constitution to have me enlist. I don't sleep and see crazy stuff. Handing an automatic rifle to a person who doesn't sleep is NOT a good way to run an army. Maybe commando's, but not an army. Air force is full of guys who think quick though. Gotta give them that. :p

yes, when i was a corporal, there was a guy in the second company that caressed his assault rifle(live ammo loaded)in the shooting range and saying "soon, soon, be patient, soon" the night before that he had told his bunkmates that that day he was gonna kill a lieutenant or someone higher ranking in the shooting range. the guy next to him advised the officer to take away the gun and he was sent home...

Yep, you don't want unstable people there. After two months of no sleep, the goverment took me off the list of eligible recruits just in case. Now, I hate guns, so thats great for me. They just don't edit the list of every male who's 18+ to say who CAN'T be recruited.

Another one, obscene jealosy. I can't take that.

All of the above sound like familiar thoughts to me, never outspoken untill now. I especially agree with the crunching/smacking, talking during movies, these women with their little compact mirrors in public and definitely the metal scraping while eating. Boy, how that last one can annoy me: every four seconds the sound of a blade being sharpened on a stone. And I was beginning to believe I was the only one...

Also annoying: people who talk right into your face, with just an inch between the faces, people who leave hairs in bathrooms, without even considering of removing them (disgusting..), and people who write and draw on my school journals/books without my permission. The messages can be sometimes interesting and creative, but the fact that people just like to clad on other people's belongings without being allowed to can be so irritating. Not to mention that the messages are most of the times not interesting nor creative...

* Women who take forever using a public toilet, because they feel the need to apply makeup while they're there... and meanwhile you're standing outside ready to burst.... The last time this happened I was on the road and suffering the effects of several morning coffees. When the woman finally emerged under numerous layers of warpaint and reeking of cheap scent, I told her that in her case it was a waste of time :p Yes... I know.. not very nice at all.. but by that point I was in real pain.

*People who leave cell phones on in movie theatres and restaurants... and then proceed to talk loudly enough for everyone to hear.

*When people talk at length on a cellphone when they are supposed to be spending time with you

*People who talk on cellphones while driving

*People who smoke in public places, either inside or outside.. it matters not to me. Breathing in second hand smoke is disgusting, especially when you have asthma.

*Hypocrisy. It really bothers me when somebody is all too quick to point fingers yet never sees their own reflection in a mirror.

*Big Egos. IMO, there is no need or justification for a big ego, ever. One's accomplishments should speak for themselves.
