Anti-Paladins?

Post by Mandeville »

I keep seeing references to Anti-Paladins in SoA and TOB, but you cannot choose that as a character class. Do you face any Anti-Paladins? Has anyone devised a kit or add-on that will allow you to become one?

I think what people mean is that they have become anti-paladins, an anti-paladin has no special abilities, they just become normal fighters.

if you keep the silver sword saemon you will encounter a party of githyinki in the docks district of athlaka one of them is a anti-paladin and if you go to watchers keep theres a few anti-paladin githyinki there as well
and if your character rep drops low as a paladin you become a fallen paladin hope this helps

@Cheese, I don't believe he's an anti-paladin. He's simply a fallen paladin, with a grudge against his former Order, and a desire to show he can be just as good as they are in his own way.

As I recall, an anti-paladin is supposed to be a character who actually worships an evil god. Sort of like Henry Kissinger. :)

no, he's an actual anti paladin, remember that sword you pick up after the battel can only be used by antipaladins, not fallen paladins. and the fight in watcher's keep, if you hold the cursor over them it shows them as being antipaladins

@Nael, I don't recall any special sword being there when I killed him, and I've played through four times. What item did I miss?

@Fable, You are missing the Unholy Reaver. It's a two-handed sword only usable by Anti-paladins.

Whoa. I've never seen this thing, and I'm a packrat. When I start another game, I'll really have to look for it--even if I don't use it. Thanks! :)

You loot it off one of the githyanki who attack you in Athkatla if you keep the silver sword blade. That's also the fight where you get the silver sword hilt. I find it difficult to believe that you got the silver sword but not the unholy reaver.

Wait a minute! Now I recall: yes, I *did* get the Unholy Reaper. As soon as I saw I couldn't use it, I sold it. That's why it didn't stick in what's left of my mind. :D

Nope I took a look at the equipment list, the soul reaver and the unholy reaver are different. But I still prefer the Soul reaver over the Unholy Reaver.

Went through the past threads and did not find anyone who was actually able to have more then two slots in a weapon proficiency as a result of being a fallen paladin.

@Weasel, as common as good magical weapons are in the game, I wouldn't be surprised if the shopkeeper fell asleep when I tried to offer him a +3 or +4 weapon.

Anti-paladins can't get grand mastery, at least, as of SoA. I can't tell you if that's different in ToB.

THATS IT! BIG WHOOP!

As for where you find it. I dont remember getting it from the Githyanki at the same time when you get the Silver Hilt. I only fought them again about 4 days ago, and did not find that sword...just the Hilt (oh, and yes there was an Anti-Paladin)

I know where you REALLY find it.

Remember the Demogorgon Statue where u gotta summon a creature for a sacrifice?
Well, I think the guy whom also holds the Girdle of Frost Giant strength has it. I am nearlly 100% sure that its a random occurance of the Unholy Reaver 'or' the Sol Reaver. I know this because in one game I had the Unholy Reaver and another game I had the Sol Reaver. (I remember this VIVIDLY)

All up, Sol Reaver is a better weapon, by far! :D

B.T.W - Try checking the Gamebanshee equipment section to its wearabouts for SURE.
