Yeah. Right now, I've got a relatively good aligned party. Main characeter sorceress is neutral good, Minsc, Anomen, Haer'Dalis, Imoen, Aerie.
Anyway, I just finished up Chapter 6 and about to go beat up on Irenicus. For my second game I'm gonna try and see how it goes with an evil party.
So, I definitely know I'm gonna have Edwin, Korgan and Viconia. That leaves space for two neutrals and my PC.
First of all, NPCs. I've only used Cernd during his quest to solve the problems around TradeMeet and I didn't like him much. I've never used Jan yet, but I've read lots about how he's a decent replacement for Imoen, so I'll have him fill in for Yoshimo/Imoen. Yoshimo I'm perfectly fine with, so I'll stick with him till Spellhold. Haer'Dalis I never found to be too useful other then for his ability to cast magic missile, as of right now, I also think his HP and AC are too low to make for a decent fighter (for some reason the monsters would aim at him first) so I'll skip out on him. Jaheira I also used sparingly and I'm quite content with what she's capable of so I'll likely take her as well.
Next, my PC. I figure the classes and kits I want to try out are Wizard Slayer, Archer, Monk, Thief, and Swashbuckler.
Seeing how I've already got decent spellcasters and good thiefs, I'll probably go with the wizard slayer or the monk.
Another question. If I go to spell hold, should I go with only Yoshimo or Yoshimo and Jan? First time I played through the game, I went straight to the Underdark so I'm not sure if I'll need a thief there. I guess I'm just wondering whether or not it's necessary for me to bring along Imoen (for her thiefing skills) with me after I lose Yoshimo.

The Eeeeeeevil party!
Well, if I were you I'd try an archer, but he can be good only, so I'd go for the monk. And I'd ditch Jaheira for Anomen as well! And I have a feeling that you gonna have a nasty last fight with this party(the good one)... don't know why - I think you don't have a really good fighter except fot minsc, I guess you use Anomen for your second best...
Anyway - Good Luck!!

Tigerin, just another loyal paladin in the league of divinity!
I know you don't like HaerDalis but I've found him fine in combat situations. Here's how
a) Stoneskin-lasts for hours and protects well
b) In a fight, aim him for the biggets monster there is and Vampiric Touch it. He usually gets a @#$% ton of HP's from this.
c) Switch to Offensive Spin and he goes.
d) If he's having trouble, defensive spin is almost unbeatable; The Shadow Dragon once gave up fighting him because it couldn't hit him.
e) Other good HaerDalsi spells are Blur and Greater Malison.

".I guess soldiers have been killing other soldiers quite a bit; I believe it is called war."
I like having a druid, they get some spells that clerics don't get. My evil group consists of me (barbarian half-orc), Edwin, Korgan, Viconia (of course), Yoshi and Jaheira. Korgan and Jaheira hurl some pretty intense insults at each other, which is rather amusing, but I've been told that they won't actually come to blows.
I intend to try some tricks to keep Yoshimo this runthrough, just to see if it works and if he will carry over to ToB, but if it doesn't work I'll probably take Imoen. Then I'll probably trade Jaheira for Sarevok (maybe, haven't really decided on that for sure yet).

Holy crap! Yes I did have a hard time! While fighting inside the Palace, I got plastered so many times cause I had hard time figuring out how to drop his magical defenses. Eventually, something happened where he charged my casters and I was able to knock his defenses down. Unfortunately, I lost Anomen here and I wasn't able to use him in hell.Originally posted by Tigerin:

Then in hell... Oooo boy... I used Minsc as bait and had him chase him around while everybody else casted summonng spells and pelted him with arrows or bullets. Eventually, I was able to wear down all of his spells and resurrect Haer'Dalis who got killed by the demons and my party was able to mob him.
