I'm freakin' done with DL and ULM
Does anybody have any idea how to get out of Ulm? I've killed everything in the castle (including Fathian), got the keep key, and I got down the lift elevator and there are the two same d@#$ locked doors ("Item Required").
I keep hearing about the "room with 4 levers." There is no freakin' room with 4 levers -- probably behind the two locked doors stating "Item Required". The castle is freakin' dead, as is Fathian. I've been everywhere in the stupid castle for a zillion hours. Walkin' around, killin' random monsters. Bored out of my mind.
It's my last bit of patience with the game, really. I called the store I bought it from and they said I could return it. The game really had some potential -- sometimes I was entrhalled and engaged, but wandering around like this (as in Fargrove) just sucks. It's too bad really, the game had potential, but f#$# this. Nobody really has a clue how to complete the Ulm/Fathian/Armor mission.

If you could tone down the language a bit, I'd appreciate it.
To go through the doors at the base of the elevator, you need the lower level key held by the lord of Ulm (the same guy that dropped into the wall at your arrival). You can reach him at the top of a lengthy set of stairs within the keep. You'll know you're on the right stairway when it ends at a single large door. He's surrounded by quite a few warriors, so it can be a fairly tough fight. He definitely drops the key that you need, so if you already killed him and didn't get the key, I'd say you ran into an ugly bug. Hope that helps!

Indeed
Buck Satan:
"If you could tone down the language a bit, I'd appreciate it." Great point & my apologies. You're right. It was frustration speaking, and with regard to fourm posts, I should have kept it civil. I should have posted "grrrrrrrr".
I'll try your suggestion. Maybe I haven't explored enough. But I think I have. Grrrrrrrr....please don't let it be an ugly bug! Likely. Thanks, Buck Satan.

i'm gonna try to help as much as i can if you still can't find it. the easiest way to find the room where the king is:
if you are at the elevator that leads down into those 2 locked doors in the dungeon, go up the elevator and go down the hallway to the west. turn right at the corner and then go straight. you will end up in a large banquet room that has a bunch of tables and a kind of catwalk thing that goes along the north side of the room. that is where you want to get. so go northeast to a hallway, you will go east a few steps, and then north at teh curve. you will end up in the throne room where the fathien's originally attacked you. in this room there is a spiral staircase, go up it and when you get to the top you will be on that catwalk. go east and you will go down a series of hallways, i think (this is from memory here) that it turns south, you go up some stairs to a foyer, then the stairs keep going up north, then you turn right and go back east and go up a larger flight of stairs and at the top there is the door with the king and his troops behind it..
lemme know if you need anymore help, once you get down to the dungeon it's hard to figure out what you need to do

Don't know if your willing to help me, but I am stuck at this point in the castle. I have found one of the skull levers but I am told there are two (don't know where they go). I have opened the two doors at the bottom of the elevator, although the room with 4 levers doesn't do anything that I can tell. At this point, I forget the original positions of the levers, so couldn't even tell if they all go up or all go down. I found a couple of hidden rooms by pressing 'loose stones', but can't locate the armor and the way out of the castle. Could you help me out a bit? I am tired of spending 4 hours wondering the castle.

The armor is beyond the room with four levers. You'll find yourself on a platform surrounded by water. You'll have to swim underwater to find passages to the east and west, but eventually you should be able to surface and find four treasure rooms with sepulchers in them. Two of the rooms have buttons in them that open up new rooms, and one of them leads to the armor.
This is the same area where you could use the skull levers. I only found one of them. Neither of them is necessary.

Sir Edmund: "Should you obey the lord who asks you to put a village of innocents to the torch? Is that chivalrous? Is it noble?"
Me: "It's a great way to get promoted, I know that much."

the room with the 4 levels; lower 1 lever on each side to open the next door. the levers start out in the up position. If I remeber correctly u lower the levers in opposite corners, near left & far right, or near right & far left, it should be one of these 2. beyond, there are a number of rooms with chests, in one of the rooms is a hidden room with the armor. Just use the shift key along the back and side walls in each room to find the secret room. sorry I can't remeber more details.
if u have swim skill, then u can swim in the sewers to get to these rooms.

i found the 2 skull levers, one of them is in the second gate place not the one with the 4 levers, theres a loose brick in one of the corridors which opens a room with a lvl 6 chest and the lever, but you dont even need the rods so it doesnt matter
and the other one is in the... i think its east underwater passage

4 Levers
If you can get back to the upper level of ulm near the water, you will find the 4 levers. You have to swim over the gates. I wish I could be of more help, but I just got through them and couldn't find them again very easily. I am stuck in the lower level in a room (locked) or I would try to get back to help.
